PwC partner Kelly Barnes is a leading force behind a new understanding of a healthcare system undergoing unprecedented change. With over 30 years of experience, Kelly guides a team of over 12,000 professionals across all Global and US health-related industries, including payers, providers and the pharmaceutical, and life sciences sectors.

As the Global and US Health Industries Leader and one of the first women named to the Firm’s national Leadership Team, Kelly is the embodiment of embracing change and leading with it. Under her leadership, PwC has been a leading force in health industries, setting forth what PwC has trademarked as the “New Health Economy” based on the changing dynamics of the health industry. Kelly has spearheaded the transfer of PwC’s health expertise to new clients and industry sectors. She also leads initiatives regarding public/private collaboration to create greater value in the health system and to help shape the dialogue around the future of health.

Kelly established PwC’s Health Research Institute, which has created a significant body of research analyzing the shifting relationships of payers, providers, patients and new entrants in healthcare.

Aside from her professional achievements, Kelly is a nationally recognized speaker on topics ranging from the future of the U.S. health system to strategic planning as well as business transformation. Kelly is a Tocqueville Member of United Way, active in the International Women’s Forum (IWF), and has been named one of Health Data Management’s Most Powerful Women in Healthcare IT. At the University of Arkansas’ Sam M. Walton College of Business, Kelly and her husband Steve have created a Health and Wellbeing Innovation Fund which will promote collaborations between health care and business. Kelly also serves on the college’s executive advisory board.

Kelly earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in accounting from the University of Arkansas.
