Lara Burnside has spent the last 25 years creating workplaces that honor and value each individual person – whether they are a patient, employee or clinician.

She started her career in human resources where she learned the importance of a people-first mentality. She built human resources departments from the ground up – one being recognized as a recipient of the Malcom Baldrige Quality Award – one of the highest national honors.

She began consulting with hospitals across the country (200 or so in total) over the course of a dozen years. At each organization she taught the value of hiring and training best practices that provide exceptional patient care. People are fueled by passion and purpose and when you tap into that, results follow.

The last decade of Lara’s career has been spent working as a senior leader in the hospital setting, where she had the privilege of creating and developing patient experience divisions that utilize best practice tactics proven to create a place where patients are partners in their care. A large focus has been on physician/clinician engagement in order to reduce burnout and increase a sense of community among care teams.

Lara’s love and desire for each person to do and be their best, has allowed an opportunity to develop training programs for leaders, employees and clinicians. The results of these programs have brought engagement levels to the highest levels nationally. On the physician side, the creation of the Patient Experience Mastery Program has brought profound results – improving every question on the patient experience survey by 6.5% top box points.

Lara has a strong desire to give back to organizations and those providing care. My expertise in valuing all people is where my heart and passion have always been.
