ACHE of North Texas/Texas Hospital Association Annual Conference & Expo

ACHE of North Texas is joining forces with the Texas Hospital Association to partner on two educational Face-to-Face qualifying sessions during their 2016 Annual THA Conference.  Attendance for these sessions is open to all THA Conference registrants.  Employees of THA member hospitals qualify for their member registration rate.

Telemedicine in the Healthcare Delivery System – ACHE Face to Face Panel Session 1.5 hours

Telemedicine has become increasingly popular throughout the years. Its innovative benefits are of vital interest amid the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Telemedicine uses a variety of forms of electronic communication technology to provide a convenient method to deliver healthcare services and education. This program will explore the current and future role of telemedicine in the delivery of health care.  The program surveying the various uses and settings of telemedicine will delve into how well this technology has been utilized and received by clinicians and patients.  Technical, operational, regulatory and financial aspects of the development of telemedicine programs will be investigated. The expanding role that telemedicine holds in daily medicine and its direction into the future of the healthcare delivery system will be explored.

C-suite executives and clinicians involved in leading organizational change in new and/or renovated tertiary clinical facility planning will discuss issues surrounding sustainability for healthcare institutions into the 21st century in the U.S., with regards to the era of healthcare reform, which is very complex. Within the scope of priorities, this discussion will emphasize the necessity of understanding the key potential and existing operational and cost problem areas of adaptability for healthcare system sustainability as healthcare providers continue to face future operational challenges. The primary goal of this discussion is to provide an overview of the models of current successes and solutions with a focus on a realistic plan of action.
