The integrated delivery network includes 49\,000 employees\, 51 hospitals\, 7\,300 affiliated physicians\, more than 1\,100 access points\, Scott and White Health Plan\, FirstCare Health Plans\, Baylor Scott & White Research Institute and one of the nation’s largest accountable care organizations\, Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance. \nIn her role\, Arthur leads business transformation strategies\, working to accelerate value provided to Baylor Scott & White Health’s clinical enterprise. In addition\, she leads integration\, enterprise project management and enterprise process improvement. \nOver a 30+ year career with Baylor Scott & White Health and legacy Baylor Health Care System\, Arthur has served in multiple roles. Most recently\, she served as chief strategy officer\, where she worked with the executive team to develop\, communicate and execute the system’s strategy. She is the recipient of multiple awards\, including the Dallas Business Journal’s 2014 Women in Business Award and 2014 Who’s Who in Healthcare\, 2017 and 2018 Becker’s Women Hospital & Health System Leaders to Know and the 2018 Outstanding Women of Today in Healthcare award from the Altrusa International of Richardson Foundation. \nArthur holds a bachelor of science degree in health systems engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a master of business administration in health services management from the University of Dallas. \n  \nKyle Kirkpatrick\, FACHE\, has over 25 years of consulting and operational experience working in healthcare and life sciences with public and private organizations across the U.S. He is a former hospital CEO with experience running groups of hospitals\, managing joint ventures\, implementing new strategies\, driving EBITDA enhancements\, and creating positive organizational cultures. He has worked as a consultant within Big 4 firms focused on strategic planning\, M&A\, and operational improvements. His strategy experience includes facilitation\, visioning\, strategy and operating model development. He has strong project management experience to coordinate complex initiatives across multiple stakeholder groups. \nKyle and his wife Amy live in Argyle\, Texas and have three teenage children. His interests are his family\, ranching\, fitness\, and beekeeping. He has spoken at various conferences over his career on strategy and M&A related topics.. \n  \n  \nSanjay K. Shetty\, MD\, MBA is the President of Steward Health Care System (North America). Steward is the largest privately held\, physician-owned\, and physician-led health system in the country\, with a focus on providing high quality\, high value care through its integrated healthcare delivery model. Shetty succeeded founder Dr. Ralph de la Torre to take executive leadership of domestic operations in March 2021\, including 35 acute care facilities\, a large multispecialty medical group\, and an integrated accountable care organization\, as well as numerous other healthcare entities comprising Steward’s innovative community care model. Shetty has served in leadership roles across each of Steward’s core business lines\, including as President of Steward Medical Group\, an 1\,800-provider multispecialty practice with providers in 11 states and as President of Steward’s ACO\, Steward Health Care Network\, where he was responsible for Steward’s quality and financial performance under alternative payment models. Most recently\, he served as President of the South Region (TX/LA/AR/FL)\, providing leadership over 12 acute care facilities with a focus on strategic growth and operations. Through these previous leadership roles\, he was instrumental in expanding Steward’s participation in value-based reimbursement models\, doubling of the size of the medical group through nationwide expansion and acquisition\, and engineering a turnaround of multiple acute care facilities that had been struggling prior to acquisition. \nA practicing radiologist\, Dr. Shetty has been actively involved in the state and national level activities of the American College of Radiology\, including as Past President of the Massachusetts Radiological Society and a past member of the ACR national Council Steering Committee. Other roles have included service as Chair of the national Resident and Fellows Section\, a member of the RADPAC Board\, and a course director for the Leadership Accelerator course at the RLI\, in additional to work on numerous national committees in economics\, government relations\, and membership. \nHe is an Associate Clinical Professor of Radiology at Tufts University School of Medicine and has authored numerous articles\, reviews\, editorials\, and book chapters\, in addition to co-authoring a review book in neuroradiology. Prior to joining Steward\, he was a consultant at Bain & Company. He is a graduate of Harvard College (A.B. summa cum laude)\, Harvard Medical School (MD)\, and the Wharton School (MBA)\, and he was a resident\, chief resident\, and fellow in Radiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was recognized by the Boston Business Journal as one of “Boston’s 40 Under 40” in 2012 and by Becker’s Hospital Review in its listing of “Rising Stars: 25 Healthcare Leaders Under 40” in 2013. \nDr. Shetty has had numerous volunteer roles as well. He serves as a Trustee at Phillips Exeter Academy\, his alma mater\, where he also serves as Class President and Class Agent. He is a past member of the Board of Trustees at the Chestnut Hill School\, a coeducational elementary school in Chestnut Hill\, MA\, where he served as Chair of the Trusteeship Committee (focused on governance\, trustee selection and training\, and bylaws)\, Co-Chair of the Head of School Search Committee\, and Vice President of the Board of Trustees. He is a past member and Vice President of the Board of Directors of BANA\, a national Indian cultural and social organization. \nDr. Shetty lives in Dallas\, TX with his wife and children. \n  \n  \nDavid J. Tesmer\, chief community and public policy officer\, has more than 30 years of experience in public policy and stakeholder relations. Joining Texas Health Resources in 1995\, he is responsible for providing the organization’s strategic direction in public policy\, stakeholder relations\, faith and spirituality integration\, community health improvement and north Texas healthy communities (Blue Zones Project Fort Worth). \nTesmer has held a variety of key leadership positions at the local\, state and national level including director emeritus and past chair of the North Texas Commission. He is past chair of the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce and Texas Hospital Association (THA) Political Action Committee (PAC) and the Dallas Fort Worth Hospital Council’s Community Health Collaborative. He currently serves as chairman of the Government Affairs Committee of Premier Inc. (Washington D.C) and is a member of the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Multi-Hospital Policy Committee and the Texas 2036 Health Policy Workgroup. \nTesmer serves on the board of directors of the Trauma Center Association of America and the University of North Texas Health Science Center Academic Community Partnerships Advisory Board. He also provides his insight on stakeholder relations and public policy as a guest lecturer at Texas Christian University Neeley School of Business and University Texas Dallas Naveen Jindal School of Management. \nHe has been recognized by Premier\, AHA and THA for his outstanding advocacy efforts by receiving the Excellence in Advocacy Award\, Most Valuable PAC Player and HOSPAC Star Award. In her role she serves as the internal revenue cycle executive level liaison for clinic leadership across the enterprise; coordinating efforts to create a consistent registration and patient experience while ensuring appropriate tools are in place to comply with regulatory requirements. \nDuring her 10-years in healthcare leadership\, Christiansen has gained extensive experience spanning multiple hospital and clinic departments with increasing responsibility. Most of her tenure spent in clinic operations focusing on process improvement and organizational development. Christiansen has led and managed small and large practices spanning 19 providers and over 65 employees. Of note\, she aided in extensively increasing practices monthly margins through focused areas of improvement and streamlined workflow execution. \nMost recently\, Christiansen spearheaded the development of the No-Touch Registration workflow and the BSW Virtual Registration workflow. Aiding to reduce COVID-19 exposure between patients and employees while safeguarding a complete and timely registration process. Currently\, she is supporting a project regarding optimization of the MyBSWHealth patient portal\, creating a streamlined approach to registration for virtual and in-person visits. \nPresently\, Charmaine is the Vice Board Chair of CASA of Collin County promoting the protection and best interest of abused or neglected children. As well as continues serve as a member of the ACHE NTX WHEN committee that she aided in founding in 2019; where she emphasis the importance of networking and advocating for women in healthcare leadership. \nChristiansen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from University of Central Oklahoma and a Dual Master’s in Business and Health Systems Management from Texas Woman’s University. \n  \nPatricia T. Driscoll\, BSN\, MSN\, JD\, is an accomplished educator and senior healthcare leader; Pat Driscoll is the former President and CEO of Home Health Services of Texas\, Inc. Prior to stepping into the CEO role\, she served on the board of directors. She has more than 40 years of health care experience\, including work in her private legal practice and roles in a variety of clinical\, executive\, consultant\, and educational settings. Pat currently serves as Professor of Healthcare Administration at Texas Woman’s University. She was previously Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for St. Paul Medical Center and served in managerial roles at Parkland Health and Hospital System and RHD Memorial Medical Center. In her role as a consultant\, she advised Fortune 500 companies on health care strategy. \nPat has extensive expertise in acute and post -acute care\, as well as community engagement. She is the Chair-elect of the board of directors of CHAP (Community Health Accreditation Partner) in Washington DC\, and is involved in the development of standards for community-based care. Pat is the immediate past chair of the THR Community Leadership Council for Dallas and Rockwall\, which is engaged in addressing social determinants of health with an emphasis on behavioral health in underserved zip codes. She served on the Board of Health First\, an integrated health delivery system with four hospitals\, a health plan\, home health and hospice\, and served as the Chair of the Board of the North Texas Health Industry Council. \nPat holds a JD from Southern Methodist University\, as well as a BSN and MSN. \n  \nAngela Michael\, MHS-HFM\, LSSBB\, CPHQ\, CIC\, is a healthcare leader\, coach and collaborator who is passionate about improving patient experience and key outcomes by engaging clinical and operational leaders on innovative process improvements. Her passion for healthcare improvement is cemented firmly in her experience as the advocate and care navigator for her mom (oncology) and daughter (prematurity). As a young millennial female healthcare leader\, whose ethnicity and origin have ties to India\, Nigeria\, Canada\, and America\, Angela also believes in quietly and peacefully influencing an inclusive and equitable culture for all. \nFor over a decade\, Angela has engaged healthcare cross-functional teams with a strong focus on clinical quality improvement\, performance excellence\, project management and clinical analytics. In her current role at Methodist Health System\, she collaborates with leaders at all levels of the organization to advance patient care and employee engagement. Angela holds a Master’s degree in Health Finance and Management from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health\, and is an active member with the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) North Texas chapter. \nAngela’s world revolves around her family\, her husband\, their 9 year old daughter\, 6 year old son and two dogs\, Spot and Snow! Her all-time favorite quote is by Dr. Nelson Mandela\, “I never fail. I am either winning or learning”. \n  \nFelicia Miller\, MBA\, SPHR\, SHRM-SCP\, CHHR is the EVP & CTO at Parkland. Felicia has more than 30 years of leadership experience in healthcare HR across both non-profit and for-profit health systems\, including more than 22 hospitals and approximately 187\,000 employees. Her most recent experience as Chief Human Resources Officer for Tenet Healthcare Corporation’s Texas region saw her leading the charge for comprehensive talent management in a heavily data-driven culture while fostering cross-functional working relationships with executive counterparts across divisions. \nPrior to her time at Tenet\, Felicia spent 19 years with Presbyterian Hospital Dallas and Texas Health Resources. Her tenure with PHD included roles with increasing responsibility and seniority\, having progressed from a career center coordinator to manager roles\, senior HR generalist and director of HR. \nFelicia received a Master of Business Administration from LeTourneau University. She also has dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Health Information Management and Health Professions from Texas State University. Felicia’s professional certifications include Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR)\, SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and Healthcare Huma Resources (CHHR). She is also an active community member\, involved in multiple business organizations and the recipient of numerous professional accolades. \n  \nMaureen Spivack has spent her career building and leading teams to advise corporate executives and boards on the execution of strategic and financial transactions for publicly-traded\, privately-held and not-for-profit healthcare services companies. She has cultivated an extensive network of relationships while executing over several billion dollars of value-creating events for large cap and middle market stakeholders. Her passion for healthcare began early in her career\, as a practicing medical surgical nurse\, and continued throughout a 30-year career in mergers and acquisitions. As a qualified financial expert\, as defined by the SEC\, her breadth of industry expertise includes all types of healthcare providers\, payors\, troubled company special situations\, as well as other professional services and financial services firms. \nMaureen advises private equity firms in their evaluation of potential healthcare investments and guides companies as a board member and CEO advisor. Maureen brings strategic thinking and insight\, a deep understanding of business operations and strong financial acumen developed over a career of creating stakeholder value to the boardroom. SUMMARY:Improving the Health Status of Your Community
DESCRIPTION:This panel has been approved for 1.5 ACHE Face-to-Face Credits.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHealthcare organizations exist to serve the communities in which they reside. Though community health has always been a focus for these organizations\, new regulations require them to take an active role. The health of a community or geographic population has a critical impact on a healthcare organization’s planning\, operations\, financial sustainability\, outcomes and success. \n\n  \n\nJoin us for this educational panel\, which will feature the following panelists: \n\n\n\n\n  \nMark Andrew Casanova\, MD\, FAAHPM\nHospice and Palliative Medicine\nBaylor Scott & White Health \nShannon Huggins (Moderator)\nSenior Vice President\, Contract Strategy and Population Health\nMethodist Health System \nJerri A. Shah\, MHSA\, MBA\, CCHW\nVice President of Community Health\nBaylor Scott & White Health \nPaula Turicchi\, FACHE\nChief Strategy Officer\nParkland Community Health Plan \n  \nRegister Here\nSpeakers Bios: \n  \n  \nDr. Mark Andrew Casanova has completed board certification in Internal Medicine and Palliative Medicine. He graduated from Internal Medicine residency training in 2003\, at which time he became involved with the clinical ethics consultation service at Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC)\, and has provided numerous clinical ethics consultations since then. In 2004\, he and a team established the BUMC Palliative Care Consultation Service. Now known as the Supportive and Palliative Care Service\, the team was recognized for excellence by the American Hospital Association with a Circle of Life Citation of Honor in 2007. In 2011 Dr. Casanova took over responsibility as the Chairman of the Supportive and Palliative Care and the Institutional Ethics Committee at BUMC. In 2011 the BUMC Supportive and Palliative Care Service became the first palliative care program in Texas and one of the first 10 in the country to become Joint Commission certified. He continues to maintain a component of his general Internal Medicine practice. Dr. Casanova lectures on issues related to clinical ethics and palliative medicine\, and has also lobbied the Texas state legislature on similar topics\, on behalf of the field of medicine and patients.  Additionally\, Dr. Casanova enjoys involvement with organized medicine\, to include being the 2020 president of the Dallas County Medical Society\, as well as serving on multiple councils and committees of the Texas Medical Association. Most recently\, during the COVID-19 pandemic\, Dr. Casanova had served on a variety of advisory committees\, including at the Dallas County level\, up to the State level\, serving on the TMA COVID-19 Taskforce. \n  \nShannon Huggins is currently Senior Vice President\, Contract Strategy and Population Health for Methodist Health System. She began with Methodist in 2002 and has responsibilities for non-governmental payor contracting and relations on behalf of Methodist facilities\, joint venture organizations\, transplantation services\, Accountable Care Organization / CIN and physician groups.  Additionally she has operational responsibilities for the population health services.   She also oversees the bundled payment projects within Methodist Health System.  Shannon has designed and implemented contracting and pricing strategies for Methodist.  MPCACO has successfully achieved for Medicare over $100 million in savings for the 8 years in participating in this program – an achievement only 14 other ACOs across the nation also have.  The ACO also performed in the top quartile of ACOs who achieved savings in quality metrics. \nShannon has over 29 years of experience in contracting\, payor relations\, population health\, financial analysis and decision support.  Prior to Methodist\, Shannon served in several roles at Baylor All Saints (formerly All Saints Health System) in Ft. Worth and various roles in a profit hospital organization. She has served on various civic boards and is currently President of the Alumni Association for her alma mater the University of the Ozarks.  Civically\, she was selected to be in Leadership Dallas class of 2014.  Also\, Shannon currently serves on several Board of Directors as a representative for Methodist Health System.  She earned her BS in Marketing/Finance from University of the Ozarks and her MS in HealthCare Administration from Texas Woman’s University. \n  \nJerri A. Locke currently serves as the director of Healthy Aging at Methodist Health System in Dallas\, a position she has held for more than 20 years. Her career includes teaching elementary school\, sales and marketing at AT&T\, working with individuals with disabilities\, all which provided the foundation for her current position with Methodist. \nDuring her tenure at Methodist Health System\, she has used the opportunity to improve the health and welfare of the older adults in the community by offering a wide variety of programs. The goal of all programs is to keep the older adults engaged\, educated\, and connecting with others. \nRather than view the pandemic as a barrier\, the Methodist Generations members have had access to 30 -40 different programs each month all via Zoom. Jon is a Fellow of the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacy and a Board Certified Nutrition Support Pharmacist. \nJon has published and presented on numerous clinical and management topics. \n  \nKevin Barnes joined STA as Controller in July of 2014 and was promoted to Director of Finance in January of 2016. He is responsible for the management oversight of the finance department including budgeting\, payroll\, and financial reporting. \nPrior to joining STA\, Kevin was the Director of Finance and Information Systems at Indiana Organ Procurement Organization (IOPO) from the 2006 to 2014. As the highest-ranking financial leader in the organization\, he helped lead revenue growth by more than 50 percent from 2006 to 2012. Net assets more than doubled in his tenure. Kevin led the negotiation and discounting of clinical bills which saved the organization more than $3\,000\,000 per year. \nKevin has more than 20 years of financial leadership experience in the organ procurement industry and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). He has also served on the board examination committee of ACHE. \nKevin earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Perdue University\, a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Indiana University\, and has a Master’s in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas. \n  \nNate Mickish is the vice president of strategic sourcing at Texas Health and the president at OnHand\, a supply chain solutions company. Prior to NCH\, she spent the majority of her career with LSG Sky Chefs in a variety of progressively responsible roles\, concluding with Senior Vice President of Human Resources for the Americas region during which she oversaw all human resources activities for more than 90 locations in North and South America. \nCheryl holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University and is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) through the Human Resources Certification Institute. \n  \nTrey Greenwood is a 10-year veteran of Texas Health. He spent five years as the Entity Human Resources Officer supporting strategic initiatives at Texas Health Cleburne\, Texas Health Allen\, and Texas Health Plano. While serving in this role he focused on achieving top-decile performance in employee engagement and retention. In his current role\, Trey is responsible for designing and implementing new Shared Services functions within Human Resources. \nDuring his time at Texas Health\, he has played an integral role in developing new processes across the system to support HR operations\, including automating job descriptions reviews for employees and leaders to comply with regulatory standards and creating new procedures to decrease workers compensation cost by bringing employees back to work in modified duty assignments. His knowledge and experience in HR operations supports his passion for designing new processes that will support the workforce. \nTrey has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University and a Master of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University. He is a certified professional in human resources. \nTrey resides in Bedford\, TX\, with his wife\, Caity. In his free time\, Trey enjoys woodworking\, building furniture\, and scuba diving. He also sits on the board for the Assistance Center of Collin County. \n  \nBrent D. Magers has more than 40 years of experience in the health care industry. In his present role since 2007\, he has been responsible for all aspects of Texas Tech Physicians. Prior to this\, he served as the CEO and in other administrative roles at three hospitals. \nHe is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Certified Medical Practice Executive of Medical Group Management Association. In 2012\, he earned the FHMFA designation from the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HMFA). Brent was also awarded an additional specialty certification from HFMA in accounting and finance. \nBrent holds two master’s degrees – one from Trinity University in health care administration and one from the Texas Tech University where his thesis concentrated on health care marketing. He is an adjunct professor in the health organization management program of Texas Tech University Rawls College of Business. \nHe received undergraduate degrees from Abilene Christian University in communications and general business and Western Governors University in accounting. \n  \nDr. Patricia Rodriguez is a board-certified pediatrician who graduated medical school from The University of Texas Medical School at Houston\, where she also completed both her internship and residency. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Texas A&M University and is a proud Aggie. Before joining NTACHC\, Dr. Rodriguez served as Vice President and Chief Health Equity & Inclusion Officer for Children’s Health in Dallas\, where she spearheaded system-wide strategies and initiatives in pediatric health equity and inclusive care delivery practices. Prior to relocating to Dallas\, she served as the Director of Pediatrics for a Houston-area federally qualified health center for nearly seven years and brings extensive experience and expertise in community health and clinic operations. As president\, Becky leads the overall management and strategic programming of Texas Health Southwest and Clearfork hospital operations which consists of 263 combined critical\, medical\, surgical\, and emergency beds\, 1\,400 employees\, 650 active medical professionals and almost 100 volunteers.\n\n\nBecky Tucker most recently served as vice president of Integrated Health Campuses (IHCs) at Texas Health Resources. As vice president of IHCs\, Becky led the overall management of Texas Health Resources’ Integrated Health Campuses (IHC) operations and oversaw the alignment and evolution of all IHC care integration across the continuum. Centers included site-specific combinations of ambulatory surgical services\, outpatient diagnostic imaging\, emergency care and/or urgent care\, rehabilitation/therapy services including cardiac rehabilitation\, outpatient behavioral care services\, chronic disease management\, health behavior education and well-being services. \nBecky served as administrator of Texas Health Neighborhood Care & Wellness Burleson\, oversaw Texas Health Harris Methodist physician timeshares in Saginaw\, Keller and Burleson and managed the development of Texas Health’s second IHC\, Texas Health Neighborhood Care & Wellness Willow Park in Parker County\, which opened in January of 2015. \nBecky has been a part of the Texas Health family for 19 years. She first worked as an administrative assistant in the Medical Staff Affairs office of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano. While working at Texas Health Plano full-time\, Becky completed graduate work in business and healthcare administration. She transitioned into a healthcare administrative residency position at Texas Health Fort Worth where she continued her fellowship. \nIn 2006\, Becky transitioned to director of ambulatory clinics and physician services where she was responsible for the Assisted Reproductive Technology Service\, Executive Health program and physician referral development. \nIn 2007\, Becky began development of Texas Health Burleson. As administrator of Texas Health Burleson\, she and her team signed more than 2\,000 members to its fitness center\, achieved patient satisfaction scores for Likelihood to Recommend in the top 5 percent of the nation\, and secured Joint Commission accreditation for all new services\, College of American Pathologists Commission on Laboratory accreditation\, American College of Radiologists accreditation for MRI and CT\, and chest pain accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care. \nBecky earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with a minor in biological science from The University of Texas at Austin. She also holds master’s degrees in health care administration and business administration from Texas Woman’s University. \nBecky is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives\, a past board member of the United Way of Tarrant County\, former chair of United Way of Tarrant County Young Leaders Society\, board member and vice chair for the Alzheimer’s Association of North Central Texas\, and a board member for the Fort Worth Leukemia and Lymphoma Society where she also serves as the chair for the Man Woman of the Year executive committee. Plus\, Becky serves as the president of her local early childhood PTA. \nIn addition\, Becky is a Fellow with the Texas Hospital Association (THA) and the past chair for THA’s Leadership Development Council. In 2012\, Modern Healthcare named Becky as one of it’s Up and Comers in Healthcare. In 2014 she was selected as one of Fort Worth Business Press’ 40 Under 40 and was awarded the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council’s Young Healthcare Executive of the Year award. Lastly\, in 2019 Tucker was awarded the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Fort Worth Woman of the Year and was recognized as a Fort Worth Business Press Healthcare Hero in 2020. \nBecky is enjoying parenthood with her husband\, Toby. The Experience Team at Parkland has seen tremendous results\, achieving the 90th Percentile rank in the National Press Ganey Database and the 93rd Percentile Rank in the University Health Systems. The strategy and its execution were cited in the 2019 whitepaper on Strategic Initiatives by Press Ganey : Accelerated Transformation – From Strategy to Action. \nPrior to coming to Parkland\, Mr. Bhalla was the Director of Operations for a hospitality firm\, where he oversaw twelve facilities with more than 6000 rooms. He has worked on four continents and also previously served as a Director for Sandals Resorts International. He possesses a Master in Hotel Administration from University of Strathclyde\, a General Managers’ Program certification from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration and is a Lean Six Sigma Master Blackbelt. \n  \nBen Cheney is currently a Business Development manager with OneEQ\, and has several years of experience with projects of all sizes and phases. He has helped design the reporting process\, created and implemented project specific order of operations that reduce gaps in communications and diminishes redundancy. He helps facilitate work flow to stream line the procurement process\, keeping resources to a minimum and maximizing project efficiencies\, while reducing overhead and maximizing profitability. PHHS is one of the largest safety net hospitals in the country with 882 inpatient beds\, multi-specialty outpatient clinics\, post-acute facilities\, an ambulatory surgery center\, and a health plan. Mr. Rashid is responsible for all financial aspects of workforce management solutions and optimizing operations\, a billion dollar salary budget function\, productivity and benchmarking analytics\, and ensuring operational efficiency. He has a varied healthcare skillset with experience in for-profit\, not-for-profit\, and governmental organizations and a proven track record in the following: financial and operations planning\, leading various cross-functional teams\, and implementation of data and clinical driven strategic initiatives to ensure high quality of care while optimizing operations. \nMr. Rashid earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from St. Louis University\, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Washington University in St. Louis\, Missouri. He is a certified fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and a member of ACHE North Texas Association. \n  \nMichael Sanborn\, MS\, FACHE\, FASHP currently serves as president of Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center – Fort Worth. He is responsible for the leadership and management of the 574-bed acute care hospital with more than 2\,400 employees and 1\,100 medical staff members. Services include transplantation\, heart/vascular\, oncology\, trauma\, and one of the largest women’s hospitals in the area. \nBefore joining All Saints\, Sanborn served as president of Baylor Scott & White – Carrollton where he was responsible for the hospital\, three satellite medical offices and a freestanding diagnostic center. He went on to complete his Master of Medical Management degree at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh\, PA. Additionally\, he has held academic appointments at UT Southwestern\, Emory University\, University of Connecticut\, University of Tennessee\, and currently has a faculty position with the Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Malican has also held a wide variety of leadership positions. He has been the Medical Director of large trauma centers as well as the Medical Director at a variety of community hospitals. From being involved in multiple contract start-ups to the successful implementation of several hospital emergency department redesign projects\, Dr. Malican has had experience in every facet of Emergency Medicine. \n  \nStephen Nichols\, MD\nChief Clinical Technology Officer\, Disaster Response\nSCP Health \nDr. Stephen Nichols is pragmatic and realistic\, with a down-to-earth style and a methodical\, thoughtful approach to problem-solving. His training in Internal Medicine and decades of practice in Emergency Medicine have provided him with the knowledge to find both innovative and incremental improvements for clinical operations. At SCP Health\, Dr. Nichols focuses first on finding helpful insights from evidence\, data analytics\, and experience\, then identifying existing technology—or designing new systems—that can improve patient experience\, clinician practice\, and hospital client performance. \nSince the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020\, he has played a pivotal role in helping SCP Health’s hospital and health system clients adapt to rapidly changing circumstances in order to make critical adjustments and shift plans effectively. And this crisis wasn’t his first; Dr. Nichols previously helped SCP Health work its way through the H1N1 pandemic in 2009-10 and has supported the company’s response to hurricanes and other natural disasters. I have a Master’s degree in Healthcare Quality and Safety\, a Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma\, and 13 years’ experience in leading\, coaching\, and mentoring professionals in completing Lean Six Sigma\, Quality\, Compliance\, Risk and Safety projects. I have a well-rounded and knowledgeable skill set\, as I have worked in various industries\, such as mining\, utilities\, manufacturing\, technology\, and healthcare. I am passionate about helping others by sharing with them what I have learned and creating positive changes within any organization. \nIn 2007\, I was working at a coal mine\, I had learned about Lean Six Sigma and was instantly attracted to the methodology. I immediately signed up to get as many certifications as I could get. In his role\, Matt has oversight of the operations of the Dallas campus to ensure every TSRHC patient receives clinical and service excellence. \nMatt earned his undergraduate degree from Austin College and a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University. Prior to joining TSRHC\, Matt served as Chief Executive Officer of Baylor Medical Center at Uptown and in various operational roles at Children’s Medical Center Dallas and with the Veterans Affairs North Texas Healthcare System. \nMatt is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and is a past President of the ACHE of North Texas chapter. He is also Founder and Principal Crocker Solutions where he provides pro bono management and strategy consulting services to entrepreneurs and early stage companies in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and throughout the United States. \n  \nAfter completing his degree in accounting at TCU\, Mike Daniel served as Director and Senior Vice President of Business Development at NorthStar Anesthesia where he helped it become the fastest growing anesthesia company in the US\, growing from 22 sites to 182 sites in 20 states over 9 years. After his success in helping hospitals and surgery centers improve anesthesia services and lower their costs\, Mike went on to start his own anesthesia management company\, Mainstreet Anesthesia\, where he currently serves as CEO. \n  \n  \nRyan Frank started his marketing career at Kimberly Clark where he spent 12 years helping expand the business in focused on products that helped improve infection control in the hospital\, office\, and extended care environments. After his success at Kimberly Clark\, he moved to Abbott Nutrition where he spent the next 11 years of his career leading both US and Global teams that were tasked with advancing how nutrition supports health outcomes\, spanning early life\, childhood development and acute recovery\, and specific disease management.
