Santulli\, FACHE\, is president\, Advocate Health–Midwest Region\, Downers Grove\, Ill. \nHe also serves as Chair of the American College of Healthcare Executives\, an international professional society of more than 49\,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals\, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations. With comprehensive programs in credentialing\, education\, career counseling\, publications and research\, ACHE works toward its goal of being the preeminent professional society for leaders dedicated to advancing health. \nBoard certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow\, Mr. Santulli served as an ACHE Governor from 2020 to 2023 and has served\, and continues to serve on\, several ACHE committees. \nA leader with an Advocate Health predecessor organization for 21 years\, Mr. Santulli previously served as COO of Advocate Aurora Health\, Downers Grove\, Ill.\, from 2018 to 2022; executive vice president and COO\, Advocate Health Care\, Oak Brook\, Ill.\, from 2003 to 2018; and CEO\, Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital\, Downers Grove\, Ill.\, from 2001 to 2003. Previously\, he served as chair of the Illinois Hospital Association and on the boards of Chicago United\, the Illinois Chamber of Commerce\, the Des Moines and Los Angeles chapters of the American Red Cross and the YMCA of Boston\, Des Moines and Los Angeles. She and her team have several initiatives to support the WISH patients including the implementation of Respectful Maternal Care\, building a doula program\, and addressing mental health needs for pregnant and non-pregnant women. \nDr. Bowling considers herself incredibly honored to be at Parkland and lucky to be able to represent the Division of Women & Infants. She believes it is important to be present and accountable for everything that we do\, and to help who we can with what we can. She reminds all of us that Connection is what makes our time here together better. She is the mom of three wonderful young adult children\, and she is excited about her first grandbaby boy on the way. \nAs the executive medical center director of the nation’s second-largest VA health care system\, Mr. Jason Cave oversees health care services for almost 206\,000 enrolled Veterans in 38 Texas counties and two southern Oklahoma counties\, with an operating budget of $1.8 billion and 6\,600 employees. \nMr. Cave has held key leadership positions within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) since he joined in 2011 as a Presidential Management Fellow. He has served VA Medical Centers of all complexity levels across three different VISNs and VA Central Office. Additionally\, he has performed in various capacities\, including health systems specialist\, financial manager\, general attorney\, public affairs officer\, and emergency manager. Before his appointment\, Mr. Cave detailed as the interim medical center director for VA South Texas Health Care System\, VISN 17\, San Antonio\, Texas\, from June 2022 to January 2023. \nMr. Cave graduated from VISN 4’s Leadership Development Institute Class in 2013\, VA’s Leadership VA Class in 2016\, and VHA’s Health Care Leadership Development Program class in 2019. He holds an undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of New Mexico and a Juris Doctor from the University of Akron School of Law in Akron\, Ohio\, including certificates in trial advocacy and dispute resolution. \n  \nWill Maddox is the senior writer for D CEO magazine and the editor of D CEO Healthcare. He’s written about healthcare fraud\, Texas healthcare policy innovation\, leadership\, and the future of healthcare in North Texas. \nWill was just recently recognized by the Texas Hospital Association for his story about Dale Okorodudu\, MD and his work around diversifying the medical profession. \n\n\n\n\n  \n  \n\n\n\nWinjie Tang Miao serves as senior executive vice president and chief operating officer of Texas Health Resources. In her role\, Miao is charged with fostering the evolution of the system’s core services and developing an integrated\, high-performance delivery network that is consumer focused. She oversees Texas Health’s Hospital Channel\, physicians’ group and ambulatory and virtual care services\, along with clinical excellence and network navigation functions. \nPrior to assuming the chief operating officer position\, Miao served as Texas Health’s chief experience officer\, leading the organization in elevating the needs and preferences of consumers. With a focus on moving beyond episodic sick care to provide consumers a lifetime of health and well-being\, Miao expanded access to services by opening new channels of care delivery when\, where and how patients prefer. She led the organization’s Connected Health strategy and implementation and was integral in developing capabilities around data and insights\, virtual patient experiences and customer relationship management competencies. \nMiao joined Texas Health in 2000 as an administrative resident at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas and served in a progression of leadership roles\, including opening Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance as its inaugural president. She joined the system leadership team in 2015 as senior vice president of system integration and innovation and was instrumental in creating Reliable Care Blueprinting™\, Texas Health’s approach to care design to deliver a safe\, reliable and quality experience in every consumer encounter. \nA biomedical engineering graduate of Johns Hopkins University\, Miao also earned a master’s degree in healthcare administration\, with a concentration in financial management and quality management\, from the University of North Carolina. \nJohn Phillips\, FACHE\, serves as president of Methodist Dallas Medical Center. \nSince stepping into the role in 2018\, Phillips has guided the hospital through accomplishments including recruitment of additional medical staff members to meet the growing needs of the hospitals service area\, further development of the Da Vinci minimally invasive surgical program\, established the MHS Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) Program and numerous hospital expansion and renovation projects providing the hospital’s patients access to high-quality healthcare services. Under his direction\, Methodist Dallas has received accreditations as an American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet Facility\, ENA ED Lantern Award\, Level I Trauma re-designation and Level III maternal and neonatal intensive care designation. \nPhillips has been a member of the Methodist Health System family since 2011. Philips served seven years as president of Methodist Mansfield Medical Center\, a 254-bed non-profit acute care hospital. Under his leadership in Mansfield\, the hospital achieved Magnet designation for excellence in nursing and opened the $118-million Amon G. Carter Foundation Heart and Vascular Center as well as a new patient tower and $11.8-million professional office building. \nPrior to joining Methodist\, Phillips served as Chief Operating Officer at CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System in Texarkana and Chief Operating Officer at Davis Regional Medical Center in North Carolina. \nPhillips earned a Bachelors in Physical Therapy from UT Southwestern\, an MBA from Hardin-Simmons University and a Master of Health Care Administration from Trinity University. Outside of his role at Methodist Dallas\, Phillips and his wife enjoy family vacations\, hiking and traveling.

Melissa has designed multiple clinical programs with our direct to employer\, commercial and Medicare contracts (Sleep Apnea\, Low back pain\, Sepsis\, Cardiovascular Surgery\, MA care model\, Medicare Care model\, ESRD). She also leads the ambulatory pharmacy department and the gaps in care department. Melissa has designed and implemented a complex clinical performance compensation program for providers and hospitals related to provider quality and utilization performance. She has designed and implemented provider success/performance programs related to payer contract performance. She has assisted her organization in obtaining $83.6M in total savings in 2022 for MSSP\, which is the highest earned savings nationally for an ACO. \n  \nMatthew Lin is an undergraduate sophomore majoring in Public Health at the University of Texas at Dallas. He graduated in the top 5% of his Californian high school class\, and received a full-ride scholarship to enroll in the Honors program at UTD. He is currently on a pre-medical track whilst self-studying subjects in Healthcare Management\, Economics\, and Health Policy. He recently completed an MIT certification in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning\, and hopes to contribute to the integration of AI in healthcare delivery as a future practicing physician and health policy contributor. \nHe has varied previous experiences from community-level breast and cervical cancer public health interventions at UTHealth Houston to molecular analysis on the Sars-CoV-2 spike protein under former Bristol Myers Squibb drug researchers. \n  \nDr. Sunil Sinha has served in a variety of clinical and administrative leadership roles and is the Vice President for Quality and Population Health at Sentara Health Plans (SHP) in Virginia. Previously he was the Chief Medical Officer of the BJC medical group in St Louis\, Missouri\, the Chief Medical Officer of ChenMed and JenCare Neighborhood Medical Centers in Virginia\, and the Chief Medical Officer at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center in Richmond\, VA. Prior to joining Bon Secours\, Dr. Sinha served as Director for Medical and Public Health Policy for Pfizer Inc. in New York and Washington\, D.C.\, and as a senior medical officer at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). He also worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs\, where he served as the Director of the Managed Care Clinical Center of the VA Maryland Health Care System and the Director of Primary Care at the Marion VA Medical Center. \nHe has served as a senior examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award program and was appointed by the U.S. Commerce Secretary to serve a three-year term as a national judge. He is past chairperson of the Maryland Performance Excellence Award program\, board member of the Virginia state Baldrige Award program\, and board member and judge of the Illinois ILPeX (Baldrige) award program. He served as a juror for the National Quality Forum’s National Health Care Quality Award and the Joint Commission’s John M. Eisenberg Award. He has been adjunct faculty at The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and the Virginia Commonwealth University and is the Editor in Chief of the Core Body of Knowledge for the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Reviews Healthcare Quality and Physician Advisor certification. Many participants wanted to do something similar on a regular basis and months following the event… Feed The City was launched. \n  \nFeed The City is a monthly volunteer opportunity where individuals come together at a local venue to make lunches for people in need. The lunches consist of sandwiches\, chips\, and fruit. Feed The City events are open to all. \n  \nThere have been nearly 1\,000 Feed The City events that have welcomed over 75\,000 volunteers in 5 countries\, 11 states\, and 53 cities that have provided over 3 MILLION meals to people in need. She is passionate about mentoring and helping others grow on their healthcare journey. Her expertise spans establishing a quality and risk management program at a hospital level\, driving strategic project deployment at system level\, as well as leading service line and ambulatory practice operations. \n  \nPriti’s accomplishments include leading system level improvement projects yielding substantial savings\, decreasing Serious Safety Events (SSE)s such as deaths and severe harm\, as well as operational dashboard development and deployment at several facilities. In her current role\, as the (Regional) Director of Specialty Care Operations with Texas Health Physicians Group\, she thrives in engaging specialists and practice care teams to optimize patient throughput\, outcomes\, safety\, and optimal experience. \n  \nPriti believes in giving back to the community\, and has been an active member of the ACHE of NTX chapter\, most recently as the chair of the membership and networking committee. She also engages in several local community based organizations like Southlake Association of Gift & Talented and District Advisory Council with Carroll ISD. Nick previously led Customer Success for the Western United States for Premier Inc.’s Performance Services division supporting informatics solutions and services focused on cost\, quality\, and safety. He has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry and has held leadership roles with several Dallas/Fort Worth health systems including Parkland Health & Hospital System\, HCA\, and HealthSouth. \n  \nNick received his BA in Biology & Psychology from Austin College and an MBA from Texas A&M University. He is a Fellow in both the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and is a board member of DFW HIMSS. Nick lives in Plano\, Texas\, and is an avid sports fan\, a weekend warrior athlete\, a long-distance cyclist\, and plays guitar & bass in the local cover band Sonic Dissonance. \n  \nJohn Phillips\, FACHE\, serves as president of Methodist Dallas Medical Center. \n  \nSince stepping into the role in 2018\, Phillips has guided the hospital through accomplishments including recruitment of additional medical staff members to meet the growing needs of the hospitals service area\, further development of the Da Vinci minimally invasive surgical program\, established the MHS Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) Program and numerous hospital expansion and renovation projects providing the hospital’s patients access to high-quality healthcare services. Under his direction\, Methodist Dallas \nhas received accreditations as an American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet Facility\, Level I Trauma re-designation and Level III maternal and neonatal intensive care designation. \n  \nPhillips has been a member of the Methodist Health System family since 2011. Philips served seven years as president of Methodist Mansfield Medical Center\, a 254-bed non-profit acute care hospital. Under his leadership in Mansfield\, the hospital achieved Magnet designation for excellence in nursing and opened the $118-million Amon G. Carter Foundation Heart and Vascular Center as well as a new patient tower and $11.8-million professional office building. \n  \nPrior to joining Methodist\, Phillips served as Chief Operating Officer at CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System in Texarkana and Chief Operating Officer at Davis Regional Medical Center in North Carolina. \n  \nPhillips earned a Bachelors in Physical Therapy from UT Southwestern\, an MBA from Hardin-Simmons University and a Master of Health Care Administration from Trinity University. Outside of his role at Methodist Dallas\, Phillips\, his wife and two children enjoy family vacations\, hiking and traveling. \n  \n  \nJackie Sifuentes\, MBA\, serves as Manager of Patient Capacity in Ambulatory Services at Children’s Health in Dallas\, Texas. She works with ambulatory department leadership and frontline service representatives to improve and streamline patient appointment request scheduling\, provider appointment utilization\, patient experience\, and increase patient access to ambulatory care. \n  \nJackie is a graduate of the UT Southwestern Aspiring Leaders program\, is EPIC Cadence and Lean Six Sigma certified. She earned her master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from Texas Woman’s University in Dallas\, Texas and a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Southern Methodist University also in Dallas\, Texas. \n  \nPrior to joining Children’s Health\, Mrs. Sifuentes was with UT Southwestern for over nine years and has an array of experience in the laboratory\, clinical and business administrative setting. She started out exploring her Chemistry degree from SMU in a lab setting in the Touchstone Diabetes Lab. Later\, she felt the need to build on her people skills which lead to becoming a Clinical Staff Assistant in the Internal Medicine Subspecialty Clinic. With that experience she then transitioned to the Central Registration role verifying insurance for outpatient clinics & learning more about managed care. Her Aspiring Leaders project led her to discover process improvement & project management skills within EPIC which she then further developed in her role as a scheduling capacity analyst II. She aims to leverage this experience in the ambulatory access strategy & capacity team growth as these two organization’s partner through the Joint Pediatric Enterprise. \n  \nOutside of work\, she pours into the National Association of Latino Healthcare Executives (NALHE) DFW Chapter by serving as President\, has served as president-elect\, and spearheaded the founding of the National La Mesa Emerging Leaders mentorship program. She also serves on the Hispanic Alumni of SMU board. As a leader of several organizations\, Ms. Sifuentes’s hope is to inspire other Latinos to pursue health care leadership positions to help provide access and representation in underserved communities. \n  \nOriginally born in Ciudad Juarez\, Chihuahua Mexico and raised in El Paso\, Texas\, nothing fills Jackie more than watching a West Texas sunrise. \n  \nTanya Stinson is a Performance Improvement Engineer. She has a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Quality and Safety and is a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt. Tanya has 14 years of experience in leading large Lean Six Sigma transformational initiatives along with training\, coaching\, and certifying others (clinical and non-clinical) in leading performance\, process\, and quality improvement projects. She is extremely passionate about making positive changes that will improve outcomes for the consumer\, employees\, and leadership\, as well as empower project leaders through coaching and mentoring that will help others to become successful and grow the PI culture. She has worked in various Quality and PI settings\, inside and outside of healthcare. She completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Texas Christian University in 2016. Dr. Nguyen is certified as a Nurse Executive\, Advanced and a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives (ACHE). \nDr. Nguyen has worked in multiple areas of nursing\, including oncology\, home health\, hospice\, case management and as a wound\, ostomy and continence nurse. \nDr. Nguyen is a member of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership\, Texas Organization for Nursing Leaders\, North Central Organization for Nursing Leadership\, and ACHE. She is currently the President of the North Central Organization for Nursing Leadership and a Board member with Texas Organization for Nursing Leadership and the DFW Great 100 Nurses. \nShe was recognized as a DFW Great 100 Nurse in 2013\, Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas Hospital’s “Excellence in Nursing – Transformational Leadership” in 2015\, D Magazine’s “Excellence in Nursing Awards – Nurses in Leadership Roles” in 2016 and 2019\, and a JPS Excellence Award Winner in 2021. \n  \nElaine Beardsley is committed to support health care staff to be their best while doing the difficult work they do. She is in the role of Clinical Resilience Specialist at Children’s Health in Dallas. Her background is a Clinical Nurse Specialist and spent many years at Seattle Children’s in the Emergency Department. She is in her third year of an Industrial and Organizational Psychology PhD program with her research interests being organizational factors that mediate emotional labor within critical care. The focus of her work at Children’s Health is twofold: help individuals connect to their own resilience factors thereby processing stress to support replenishment\, and identifying and mitigating system factors that promote cumulative stress. Elaine has done many presentations locally and nationally. In her spare time\, she loves being with her family and pets and spending time outdoors. \n\n\n\n\n  \n  \n  \n  \n\n\n\n\nThomas Ledbetter\, MD currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie\, Texas; Sr VP CMO DFW Central Region\, and is a board certified internist\, practicing medicine for more than 35 years in Waxahachie. During his work as an internist\, he recognized the growing divide between the practice of medicine and patient care. As a result he began redesigning how his office operated in an effort to remove inefficiency in hopes to preserve face time a physician had with their patients. In 2014\, he was appointed Chief of Clinical Efficiency for Health Texas Provider Network\, an affiliate of Baylor Scott & White. In 2015\, Dr. Ledbetter co-authored an editorial for the Mayo Clinic Proceedings titled\, “The Engaged Physician\,” highlighting the growing epidemic of physician burnout. He recognized that a systematic approach was needed to improve the health and wellness of physicians\, advance practice providers\, and front line nurses. Since 2018\, he has chaired the Baylor Scott & White’s Wellbeing in Medicine workgroup which is a multi-disciplinary leadership team of physicians\, advance practice providers\, clinical psychologist\, pastoral care\, and front nurses focusing on culture\, workflow efficiency\, and resiliency. \nDr. Ledbetter earned his doctorate in medicine from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine\, graduating with honors. He did his internal medicine internship and residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas\, Texas. Dr. Ledbetter is a fellow of the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a graduate of University of Texas Dallas with a Masters in Medical Management. \nHis clinical interests have centered chronic disease management\, leveraging nutrition\, exercise and cognitive therapy to improve outcomes. \n  \nGlenda Mutinda\, PhD\, serves as the Director of Interprofessional Well-being at JPS Health Network. Dr. Mutinda received two Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Iowa in Psychology and African American Studies\, a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Houston – Clear Lake\, and holds a doctoral degree in Medical Family Therapy from East Caroline University. She also completed advanced fellowship training in integrated behavioral medicine and residency education at Saint Mary’s Family Medicine Residency Program. Her current position at JPS allows her direct access to the residents/fellows\, oversight of all well-being initiatives\, and she holds an integral position in the organization’s overarching Caring for the Caregiver task force. Her interests include well-being of medical trainees and healthcare workers\, diversity and health equity\, and integrated behavioral medicine. \n\n\n\n\n  \n  \nMihir Patel earned his medical degree from NHL Medical College/Gujarat University in India and completed his training in Internal Medicine at St. Mary’s Hospital\, Yale School of Medicine\, CT. As a Clinical Operations Specialist and Nurse Practitioner she is responsible for special projects\, evaluation of contracts\, operational assessment and clinical practice. In this role\, she ensures clients receive facility specific analysis of their processes\, staffing models\, and practice guidelines. She works to ensure efficiency\, efficacy\, and safety in the delivery of patient care. \nShe completed a doctoral project on Waveform Capnography Use in Moderate Sedation and IV Analgesia. She has worked with ANCC in developing a national emergency nurse practitioner board certification and is active in nurse practitioner lobbying and legislation. Another area of expertise is the prehospital and transport environments. She has taught classes nationally and internationally on this topic and is working on an infrastructure project currently in Nigeria. Traci was recognized as one of Baylor Health Care Systems top directors for clinical and operational performance. Traci also has worked with the U.S. Army in developing and delivering a critical care field medicine course for their Special Forces medical personnel\, which was utilized in Iraq\, and Afghanistan resulting in decreased field mortality numbers. \nShe formerly served as a Director of Emergency and Critical Care Services at Baylor Health System. While there\, she was able to develop Left Without Treatment Plans\, Door to Provider Time reduction plans\, Ventilator Acquired Pneumonia Practice Protocols and Central Line and Sepsis bundles in their clinical transformation\, Traci received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice Degree from Chatham University. The beneficiary population can no longer be considered as belonging to its system alone. \nPatients seeks services outside healthcare systems for many reasons\, including access\, capacity\, and cost. Traditionally\, migration between healthcare systems would be discouraged through financial measures or by threat of disenrollment. Today healthcare systems rely on each other to provide services that they cannot provide for financial\, geographical or accessibility reasons. The Veterans Administration and Department of Defense both rely on partnerships with public and private healthcare systems to provide care to Veterans\, Service Members\, and their dependents beyond the capability of the Federal system. He also helps PE firms to effectively make buy- or sell-side decisions and deliver increased value through their portfolio companies. \nPrior to joining The Chartis Group\, Mr. Bujnowski was the system Chief Strategy Officer at Texas Health Resources\, where he spent nearly nine years. He was responsible for developing and implementing strategies across the entire enterprise\, including acute\, post-acute\, ambulatory\, physician\, consumer\, and value-based approaches. His experience also includes more than four years with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG)\, where he served as a core member of BCG’s strategy and healthcare practices. He was also a founding member of BCG’s PE practice\, spending time on Wallstreet working on deals with many of the country’s largest PE firms. Mr. Bujnowski previously held various leadership positions in new venture development and innovation at The Dow Chemical Company for more than nine years. \nWhile at Chartis\, Mr. Bujnowski has worked with large IDNs on major strategic efforts\, including enterprise strategy development and implementation\, service line strategy and structure\, consumer strategy\, and strategic and community partnership development. Fisher is the Executive Assistant to the Director at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS).  In this role\, Mr. Fisher reports to the Medical Center Director and has responsibility for Strategic Planning\, VA-DoD Sharing Agreements\, Joint Incentive Fund proposals\, and numerous special projects. \nMr. Fisher received a Bachelor of Administration in Business Management from Texas A&M University in 1991\, and a Master of Healthcare Administration and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston – Clear Lake in 1994.  He entered the VA as an administrative resident through the Graduate Healthcare Administration Training Program (GHATP) in Brooklyn\, NY\, and later served as the Executive Secretary of the GHATP Board for almost 10 years. \nMr. Fisher joined the STVHCS in 1995 as the Administrative Officer at the VA Outpatient Clinic in Corpus Christi. Following this assignment\, Mr. Fisher served as Executive Assistant to the Director at the STVHCS from 1997 through 2006.  In 2006 Mr. Fisher was appointed the Strategic Programs Manager of the STVHCS which has since evolved into his current role. \nMr. Fisher received an Honorable Discharge as a Captain from the U.S. Army Reserves in 2010\, having served with the 228th Combat Support Hospital\, the 5th Brigade/95th Division\, and the 4th Brigade/100th Division. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEric D. Jacobsen is the Associate Director and Chief Operating Officer at VA North Texas where he manages numerous administrative departments and sections. \nMr. Jacobsen began his career at VA in 1999 as a supervisory health system specialist and worked in a variety of leadership roles. \nMr. Jacobsen received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996 and completed a Master of Science in Health Care Administration at Trinity University in San Antonio\, Texas in 1999. \nHe is a graduate of VA’s Executive Career Field Training Program and is Board Certified in Healthcare Management and a Fellow in ACHE with experience in healthcare operations\, public health initiatives/crisis management\, quality and performance metrics\, provider networks\, financial management\, strategic and tactical planning\, and improving patient satisfaction. \n  \nGeorge T. Roberts\, Jr.\, has served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Northeast Texas Public Health District since November 2006. The Northeast Texas Public Health District (NET Health) is a local Health Department established by the City of Tyler and Smith County. Services provided by NET Health include Community Outreach\, Disease Surveillance\, Environmental Health\, Immunization\, Tuberculosis Control\, Public Health Emergency Preparedness\, Regional Laboratory\, Vital Statistics\, and the WIC (Women\, Infants\, and Children) Program. NET Health has started and participated in many community collaboratives including Fit City Tyler whose Mission is to make Tyler a Fit City “One Step\, One Bite and One Health-Conscious Decision at a Time”. NET Health primarily serves Tyler and Smith County but also provides some services in 21 counties in East Texas. The WIC Program serves a 20-county area and Public Health Emergency Preparedness serves a 7-county region. Most recently\, Mr. Roberts and his Team have been leading the Community response to the COVID 19 Pandemic and the COVID 19 Vaccination effort. \nMr. Roberts has over 40 years of health care experience\, the majority of which was spent in hospital administration\, having previously served at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas\, Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler\, and Henderson Memorial Hospital in Henderson\, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University in Dallas\, TX and his Master of Health Administration from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis\, MO. She has more than 40 years of health care experience\, including work in her private legal practice and roles in a variety of clinical\, executive\, consultant\, and educational settings. Pat currently serves as Professor of Healthcare Administration at Texas Woman’s University. She was previously Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for St. Paul Medical Center and served in managerial roles at Parkland Health and Hospital System and RHD Memorial Medical Center. In her role as a consultant\, she advised Fortune 500 companies on health care strategy. \nPat has extensive expertise in acute and post -acute care\, as well as community engagement. She is the Chair-elect of the board of directors of CHAP (Community Health Accreditation Partner) in Washington DC\, and is involved in the development of standards for community-based care. Pat is the immediate past chair of the THR Community Leadership Council for Dallas and Rockwall\, which is engaged in addressing social determinants of health with an emphasis on behavioral health in underserved zip codes. In his role\, Dr. Edmonson oversees the company’s clinical and credentialing organizations\, learning and research programs\, and holds responsibilities related to clinical quality\, compliance\, and risk. \nDr. Edmonson comes to AMN from Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas\, a three time Magnet hospital with a highly respected and decorated nursing staff\, where he has been Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer since 2010. Throughout his tenure as a nurse leader\, he has initiated and led innovative programs to advance clinical quality\, education\, professional practice\, patient experience and safety\, and clinician safety. \nTravis Gill\, J.D. is the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Equity & Access at UT Southwestern Medical Center. In this role\, Travis provides leadership in promoting and furthering the University’s commitment to inclusion and equal opportunity for all members of its community.  As AVP\, Travis has oversight of UT Southwestern’s Equal Opportunity\, Affirmative Action\, Title IX\, and Diversity & Inclusion programs and efforts. \nAs a scholar\, practitioner\, and consultant in diversity\, equity\, and inclusion\, Travis is dedicated to removing barriers and providing equitable opportunity through systemic change. Travis has also served as the Director of Institutional Equity & Access and Title IX Coordinator at Kansas State University and the Director of Investigations & Outreach in the Office of Institutional Equity at the University of Texas at Austin. \nTravis proudly received his undergraduate degree (BBA) in Finance from the University of Oklahoma and his law degree (JD) from the University of Houston. \nDr. Marlette Jackson (she/her) is a researcher\, educator\, and cross-functional leader with over 8 years’ experience building and scaling DEI initiatives. Currently\, Marlette serves as the Director of Justice\, Equity\, Diversity and Inclusion (J.E.D.I) at Virgin Pulse\, where she leads the company’s global J.E.D.I efforts. In this role\, she oversees all J.E.D.I programming\, education and skill-building\, conflict mediation\, employee resource group engagement\, and culture change management. \nMarlette holds a PhD in Political Science from Stanford University and has published work on equity\, diversity\, and social justice in the Harvard Business Review\, Forbes\, and the Journal of Political Behavior. In her free time\, Marlette serves as a board member for the Stanford First-Generation and/or Low Income Alumni Network and as a board member for the BORNE Alliance\, a non-profit providing neurological care to underserved communities in Ethiopia. \nPamela Stoyanoff\, MBA\, CPA and FACHE\, is currently President and Chief Operating Officer for the 10 hospital Methodist Health System in Dallas\, Texas. In that role she is leads strategic planning for the system and provides operational leadership for its hospitals\, joint ventures and medical group. She is passionate about the Quadruple Aim and improving health by leading efforts that help to reduce health disparities. \nShe has been a member of numerous Boards and current serves on the Dallas Ft.Worth Hospital Council Education and Foundation Board\, Business Council for the Arts Board and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Finance Committee. \nPrior to coming to Dallas\, Pam was the Chief Financial Officer for the St. Vincent Health System (4 hospitals) in Little Rock\, Arkansas. She is originally from Chicago\, Illinois and began her career at Arthur Anderson & Co. \nPam has her BS in Business Administration with a major in Accounting\, is a CPA and has her Masters degree from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in Lake Forest\, Illinois. She is also a FACHE. \nPam has spoken around the country on many topics including revenue cycle management\, robotics\, cost reduction strategies and diversity in healthcare supply procurement. \nShe has been voted one of the top “100 Women Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know” by Becker’s Hospital Review\, one of the top 25 Women in Business in Dallas/Ft. Worth by the Dallas Business Journal and was also selected by the Dallas Business Journal as a Health Care Hero (in recognition of contributions toward improving health care in North Texas). \n\n  \n  \nPanel #2 Speakers Bios – Equity of Care: \nDaffodil Baez currently serves as the Assistant Director of Clinical Operations at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center- Frisco overseeing the ambulatory multispecialty location. This regional campus is a joint venture between UT Southwestern and Texas Health Resources\, which operates the hospital onsite. \nMs. Baez is also an entrepreneur and consultant. She is the founder and CEO of Fortress Therapeutics\, a company focused on providing tools for optimal health. The main product line is comprised of organic tea blends to eliminate PMS\, stabilize mood from anxiety and depression\, and strengthen respiratory systems from allergies and other infections. Ms. Baez also provides consulting services for companies seeking to improve cultural sensitivity and connect with Latino healthcare consumers\, streamline their outpatient operations\, or launch virtual practice. \nDaffodil received her Bachelor’s degree at Rice University before pursuing her Master’s in Public Health at Columbia University. She began her career as a financial analyst for a commercial health insurance payer before transitioning to practice management. After completing her Master’s in Business Administration at Arizona State University\, she moved into an executive role for an integrated healthcare provider in Phoenix\, AZ which focused on combining medical primary care with behavioral healthcare to the underserved community. In 2020\, Ms. Baez was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. \nSince high school\, Ms. Baez has volunteered in the community as an educator\, organized free health fairs\, and is a contributing author to a healthy lifestyle book and curriculum. She is the president-elect for the National Association of Latino Healthcare Executives (NALHE) inaugural Dallas Fort Worth chapter. Daffodil is also an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE)\, the Greater Hispanic Chamber of Commerce\, and the National Association of Health Service Executives (NAHSE) and is involved with several non-profit organizations focused on education and community health education. In her spare time she enjoys cycling\, traveling\, and baking. She is a native Texan\, the first generation born in the US. Her family emigrated from the beautiful Dominican Republic. \n\nGary DiPersi\, BSN\, MBAHA\, CENP\, FACHE is dually certified as a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and Executive Nursing Practice\, Gary started his career as an orderly while attending a diploma based registered nursing program. During the course of his career\, Gary spent the first 16 years as a critical care registered nurse eventually obtaining a BSN and MBAHA before transitioning to operations. \nA proven leader with 30 years of experience in both the clinical and operations arenas\, Gary DiPersi is currently the National Director of Patient Safety at Tenet Health and as such is the functional domain thought and impact leader for safety. Gary’s responsibilities include building a safety agenda that bridges across the three business units: Acute Care Hospitals\, United Surgical Partners International\, and Tenet Physician Resources. Prior to Tenet Health\, Gary was the System Director for Nursing Operations and Performance Improvement at CHRISTUS Health and the System Director of Performance Improvement in both the clinical and operational areas for the Adventist Health System. \nGary’s leadership style has always been to engage those closest to the work in the problem-solving process and to sustain change through active engagement of the staff and leadership at the process and performance levels. \nCatherine Oliveros is vice president of Community Health Improvement at Texas Health Resources. \nCatherine provides strategic direction to and oversight of Texas Health’s Community Health Improvement initiatives\, which aim to decrease health disparities and address social determinants with a special focus on underserved populations. In her role\, Catherine oversees community health research and evaluation and is responsible for programs created as part of Texas Health Community Impact\, the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment Program (DSRIP) and Community Health Ministry. Additionally\, Catherine oversees the Texas Health Mobile Initiative: Wellness for Life and strategic trajectory projects established to disrupt current systems of care to improve health outcomes. Catherine is also responsible for building strong relationships with public and private organizations who share the Texas Health Vision of improving health and well-being across North Texas. \nBefore joining the Texas Health family\, Catherine was director of community affairs at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas\, where she developed strategies and collaborative partnerships to advance health and wellness\, community engagement and business growth. Her 24 -year career includes six years with Susan G. Komen\, where she was regional director for Latin America\, including oversight of Komen’s Latin America research and community-based grants portfolio addressing the entire breast cancer continuum of care. \nCatherine holds a master’s degree and a doctorate degree in public health from Loma Linda University in California\, as well as a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Pitzer College in Claremont\, California. \nCommunity is also a priority for Catherine outside of work. She is a graduate of Leadership Fort Worth and Leadership North Texas and has served on the boards of The Concilio\, North Texas American Diabetes Association\, UNT Health Sciences Center: Women’s Health and Health Disparities\, North Texas Hispanic 100\, and Dallas Fort Worth Hospital Council Foundation. He has operational oversight of cardiology\, oncology\, imaging\, laboratory\, physical medicine\, respiratory therapy\, inpatient hospitalists\, physical plant\, food services\, environmental services\, police and leased tenants. Dustin was originally hired as the facility’s Vice President of Finance in 2014 and moved in to the Vice President of Operations role approximately one year after being hired. \nIn addition to his current role\, Dustin serves on several boards of directors including a joint venture with a 50-bed rehabilitation hospital\, a 100-bed skilled nursing facility\, and a chemotherapy and radiation treatment center. He is also on the Executive Board of Directors of the American College of Healthcare Executives (North Texas Chapter) and Board of Directors of the Best Southwest Partnership that brings together local and state politicians\, business leaders\, community leaders and citizens to address the education\, tourism\, transportation\, and healthcare needs of the Southern Dallas Sector. \nDustin began his career at Fidelity Investments\, holding roles as an investment advisor and financial analyst. During this time\, he was also an adjunct instructor of economics. He transitioned to healthcare at UT Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) and operated in progressive roles until he was the Manager of the Office of Financial and Capital Planning\, where he developed large projects which supported the growth of UTSW\, before moving to Methodist Health System. \nDustin holds a Bachelors in Business Administration\, a Bachelor of Science in Economics\, a Master’s in Business Administration\, and a Master’s of Arts in Economics from the University of Texas at Arlington. In addition\, he holds a graduate certificate in advanced technical accounting\, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)\, and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). In 2019\, Dustin was awarded Early Careerist of the Year and Mentor of the Year by the American College of Healthcare Executives (North Texas Chapter). In 2020\, he was recognized as the Young Healthcare Executive of the Year by the Dallas-Ft. Worth Hospital Council and selected for the Leadership Dallas Class of 2021 by the Dallas Regional Chamber. \n  \nKristi Abbott is a Senior Associate in the Care Delivery Division at The Kinetix Group. She completed her Master of Health Administration at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in 2020. While finishing her MHA\, Kristi worked at The Kinetix Group as a Practice Transformation and Innovation Resident\, where she worked with practices across the Southeast to help them transition to value-based care arrangements. Working at The Kinetix Group\, Kristi has found her passion working with providers\, payers\, and life sciences organizations across a number of initiatives relating to health policy\, practice transformation\, real-world evidence generation\, virtual health and CV-19. Each day and every client are different which keeps Kristi on a path of continuous learning and growth. Kristi completed her Bachelor’s degree in Public Health in 2018 also at Tulane University. In her spare time\, Kristi loves travelling and experiencing unique festivals and cuisine in every city. \n  \nCamille Beste currently works at Children’s Hospital New Orleans as a Strategic Planning Analyst. CHNOLA was also where she completed her Administrative Residency while finishing up her Master of Health Administration at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She graduated in 2020. During her time at CHNOLA\, Camille learned hands on experience with financial planning and analysis and witnessed the hospital undergo fast improvements and updates to provide a more robust facility that provides extraordinary care\, just for kids. Prior to her graduate degree\, Camille completed her Bachelor’s in Psychology from LSU. In her spare time\, Camille loves exploring new places to eat in the heart of New Orleans as well as snuggling on the couch with her 12-pound cat named Gary. \n  \nColson Files is a current Administrative Fellow at UT Southwestern in Dallas. He completed his Master of Health Administration at University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth in 2020. While working on his MHA\, Colson interned at UAB University Hospital in Birmingham\, Alabama. There he worked with the hospital operations team to increase patient throughput\, rewrite processes to improve patient experience\, and implement initiatives around patient transportation. Colson earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma in 2017. Prior to pursuing his graduate degree\, he served on the medical operations team with Mission of Hope in Haiti and then as an assistant administrator with Watermark Health’s nonprofit urgent care clinic in Dallas. \n  \n\nElizabeth Godines\, MHA\, currently works for Ambulatory Services at Children’s Health – Dallas as a Patient Capacity Manager. Elizabeth leads a team of Epic analysts\, Ambulatory Directors\, and clinical leaders to improve scheduling access for new and established patients. She is currently working on an optimization project that aims to improve patient access and provide a consistent\, favorable consumer experience for patients and referring providers when they engage with Children’s Health. Elizabeth previously worked for Ambulatory Operations at UT Southwestern Medical Center as the project manager for the Access Initiative project. She led the project and increased new patient appointments by 10% and increased provider slot utilization by 80% by standardizing clinic scheduling practices. Elizabeth is also Cadence certified in Epic.  \nElizabeth is a first-generation college student and is the daughter of Mexican immigrants. Elizabeth received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of North Texas and recently graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a Master’s in Healthcare Administration.  \nElizabeth is an active member of ACHE and NALHE. Under his leadership\, the hospital was honored as one of the 2017 Truven Top 100 Hospitals in the nation. \nHe joined Texas Health Alliance in 2012 as professional services officer and played an integral role in efforts to open the facility. During that time\, he recruited and worked with physicians on the medical staff and oversaw ancillary services\, including the Imaging\, Laboratory\, Pharmacy\, Cardiopulmonary and Rehabilitation departments. He also led the Texas Health Convenient Care Clinic and Outpatient Surgery Center and spearheaded process improvements throughout the hospital. \nPreviously\, Abernathy served as administrative director of Operations and Clinical Excellence for Texas Health Dallas. He was also the hospital’s director of Performance and Productivity from 2007-2011. During that time\, Abernathy implemented process improvements that helped reduce costs and improve quality of care. \nHe served as a Lean Six Sigma black belt and associate plant manager for Fresenius Medical Care from 2005-2007 and the quality assurance supervisor for PCI Technology from 2003-2005. \nAbernathy received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Dallas and a master’s degree in health care management from Champlain College in Burlington\, Vermont. He is a Lean Six Sigma master black belt and a certified quality engineer\, as designated by the American Society for Quality. \nHe serves as board president of the Northwest Independent School District Education Foundation and is involved with the March of Dimes Strategic Leadership Team\, DFW Hospital Council\, Healthy Tarrant County Collaborative and the Northeast Tarrant County Leadership Team. Kito earned a Master of Business (Management) degree from Dallas Baptist University. He earned his BA in Sociology from Wake Forest University\, where he competed as a scholarship-athlete on the football team. Kito lives in the Grand Prairie area; and is married to Stephanie Gary. Chacko\, FACHE\, is Vice President of Operations (COO) of Methodist Dallas Medical Center. Methodist Dallas is a 556-bed Level-1 Trauma Center home to The Liver Institute\, Transplant Institute\, Methodist Digestive Institute and Moody Brain and Spine Institute. In his role he provides day to day leadership for the operations of the hospital\, collaboratively implements strategies\, and efficiently manages hospital and clinic departments to maximize quality. Benson’s healthcare career spans two decades in various areas to include human resources\, project management\, ambulatory care\, business development\, and hospital operations. Prior to joining Methodist Dallas\, Benson served as Interim Chief Executive Officer/Chief Operating Officer at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Lake Pointe\, where he led the organization through a successful Joint Commission Survey\, achieved the Leap Frog “A” Rating for the organization\, and led the corporate transition from Tenet Healthcare to Baylor Scott & White. Prior to returning to D/FW\, Benson held the Chief Operating Officer role at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis\, MO\, and The Hospitals of Providence-Sierra Campus in El Paso\, TX\, where he managed a $53 million\, two-year renovation of the 329-bed tertiary care hospital. \nBorn and raised in Dallas County\, Benson started his career as a junior volunteer at St. Paul Medical Center\, which defined his career path to serve in healthcare. He holds a Bachelors of Healthcare Administration from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos\, TX\, and Master of Healthcare Administration and Master of Business Administration degrees from Texas Women’s University in Dallas. Throughout his career as a healthcare executive\, Benson has continued to find time to serve on professional councils with the Texas Hospital Association and serving for community nonprofits such as The Boys & Girls Club and Center Against Sexual and Family Violence. Finally he’s had the honor of being recognized by the United States Congress for Community Service during his time at Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto\, CA. \nTracy Martinez is a North Texas native\, growing up in the Metroplex\, and now lives in Haslet\, Texas. \nShe started her 20-year long career in healthcare as a Physical Therapist at Arlington Memorial Hospital after graduating with her Bachelor of Science from UT Southwestern Medical Center. After many years of progressive leadership in the clinical environment\, she became to have an interest in the business side of healthcare. \nIn 2008 she received her Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from UT Arlington. At that point\, Tracy became increasingly involved in leading and developing teams\, as well as managing a successful business operation. \nAfter several years leading at the departmental level\, she began looking for opportunities to expand her experience\, knowledge\, leadership and involvement in hospital operations. She found herself eager to support the broader mission of the organization. \nIn 2015\, Tracy earned a role on the Executive team at Texas Health Alliance. At Alliance\, Tracy oversees ancillary clinical departments as well as support departments such as food and nutrition and engineering. She is involved in all aspects of hospital operations\, including construction projects\, business development and physician relations. \nTracy is married to Vincent Martinez\, who is a Biomedical Professional in healthcare as well. During their 16 years of marriage they’ve traveled a great deal and enjoy spending time with family\, friends and their poodle\, Mickey. Tracy is an avid health and wellness advocate\, championing a life of health and wellness. \nChris Rubio is the Chief Operating Officer of UT Southwestern’s William J. Clements University Hospital. Prior roles include Associate Vice President of Neurosciences and the O’Donnell Brain Institute at UTSW; Director of Anesthesiology & Critical Care at the MD Anderson Cancer Center; and\, served as an officer in the US Army. He has over 20 years of experience in academic medicine and the University of Texas System. Chris is the proud father of a 2-1/2 year old son and is enjoying his relatively new positions as Papa. \n  \n  \nMary Wylie serves as the Vice President of Operations for Baylor Scott and White Medical Center Plano. She has administrative responsibilities for ancillary services\, and service line development. \nPrior to her current positions\, she served as the Senior Director of Professional Services for Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas\, with administrative oversight of the neuroscience\, orthopedic\, behavioral health\, cardiovascular\, oncology\, spine\, post-acute\, trauma\, emergency management\, bariatrics\, pharmacy\, pulmonary\, physics\, and radiology. \nDr. Wylie has nearly 3 decades of progressive health care management experience within the Dallas market\, at 3 of the largest health care systems\, with extensive experience in the areas of business development and fundraising\, having generated over $20 million dollars from philanthropic sources to support both educational and clinical services. \nPrior to her appointment at Texas Health Dallas\, Dr. Wylie served as the Vice President of Oncology and Medical Surgical Services for Medical City Dallas Hospital. While at Medical City\, she built one of the largest bone marrow transplant programs in the United States. Prior to Medical City\, she was the Executive Director of Clinical Services and Development for Baylor Richardson Medical Center. During this time\, she spearheaded the master plan for a new hospital\, office building\, and a 50\,000 square-feet cancer center affiliated with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. \nDr. Wylie completed her doctorate in the area of Health Administration\, from the Medical University of South Carolina. Her work in palliative care\, and dissertation\, Evaluating Palliative Care as a System: Consideration of General System Theory as a Potential Methodology led her to an assignment as Texas Health Resources palliative care project director for Texas Health Resources. Dr. Wylie’s work in palliative care culminated in the adoption of a system-wide palliative care program for 24 hospitals. \nPrior to her doctorate\, she received two master’s degrees from Texas Woman’s University in Healthcare and Business administration\, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas in Austin. Dr. Wylie is an active member of the community and serves as a board of director member for several community boards. Dr. Wylie is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives\, the Alpha Eta Society and the Upsilon Phi Delta Society Chapters of the Medical University of South Carolina. \nAchievements and awards include a Healthcare Administration Fellowship from the American College of Healthcare Executives\, and the Texas Hospital Association. \nShe currently is an adjunct professor for Texas Woman’s University\, University of Texas at Dallas and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. \nDr. Wylie volunteers at Preston Hollow Presbyterian church\, and enjoys water sports\, traveling\, playing the piano\, tennis\, cycling\, and golf. \n  \n\nClick Here to Register\n

Mansfield\, Ph.D.\, FACHE\nFormer President and CEO\nMethodist Health System \nSpeakers Bios: \nJim Berg\, FACHE\, was named president of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas in April of 2015 and announced his retirement from THR in the spring of 2019. Berg joined the organization in 2007 as senior vice president and chief operating officer\, and served as Interim President from August 2014 until April 2015. In his role as president\, Berg had primary oversight of day-to-day activities and responsibility for the annual operating plan. \nPrior to joining Texas Health Resources\, Berg led hospitals and health care systems in Illinois\, Iowa\, Kansas\, Utah and Missouri. \nBerg served more than 20 years in the U.S. Air Force Reserve\, retiring with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He received numerous military awards and decorations\, including the Air Force Reserve award for Outstanding Hospital Administrator\, three Meritorious Service Medals and a Commendation Medal. \nBerg holds a master’s degree in hospital and health care administration from Saint Louis University\, where he also received a bachelor’s degree in management sciences\, magna cum laude. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and on the boards of the Texas Hospital Association HealthSHARE and the American Hospital Association (AHA) Services\, Inc. Each of these organizations is committed to finding innovative solutions to the most pressing challenges facing hospitals. \nGary Brock is executive vice president and special advisor for Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH)\, an integrated health care delivery system serving the Central and North Texas regions. During fiscal year 2018\, BSWH served more than 2.3 million unique patients across the system’s numerous access sites\, which includes 50 hospitals\, 196 outpatient ancillary facilities\, 162 primary care clinics\, and 513 specialty care clinics. \nThroughout his distinguished 30+ year career with Baylor\, Mr. Brock has held many leadership positions\, including BSWH chief integrated delivery network officer\, providing direct executive leadership and oversight for managed care and network development\, the Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance\, HealthTexas Provider Network\, and served as president and chief operating officer for the North Texas Division of Baylor Scott & White Health. \nMr. Brock holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Oklahoma and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He is a past chair of the Texas Hospital Association (THA). THA honored Mr. Brock as the 2016 recipient of the Earl M. Collier Award for Distinguished Health Care Administration. He is the chair of the Texas Health Ventures Group board of managers – a joint venture with United Surgical Partners International\, which develops and operates surgery centers and short-stay hospitals in partnership with local physicians in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. He is the chair of the Zephyr Integrated Provider Services\, L.L.C.\, board of managers. He is also a board member of the Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance. Additionally\, he serves on the board of the Dallas Regional Chamber. \nDr. John Gillean serves as the senior clinical executive of CHRISTUS Health\, a faith-based\, Catholic health care organization serving communities in the United States\, Mexico\, Chile\, and Colombia.  In this capacity\, Dr. Gillean’s many responsibilities include the oversight of quality and patient safety\, health informatics\, accreditation readiness\, clinical research and academics\, along with other areas that effect the care administered to patients. \nDr. Gillean has more than 35 years of experience in the provision and management of health care.  From his graduation until 1995\, he served as an internal medicine specialist in Texarkana.  Subsequent to this and prior to joining CHRISTUS Health\, he held several administrative positions\, including that of Medical Director for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arkansas. \nDr. Gillean has a passion for quality health care delivery that meets the needs of individual patients and unique populations.  He continuously challenges CHRISTUS Health associates to move to a high reliability organization which first does no harm\, and then optimizes health care outcomes. \nDr. Gillean received both his medical degree and internal medicine specialty education from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.  He later earned a Master of Science in Health Administration degree from the University of Colorado. \nStephen L. He was recognized by D Magazine as Healthcare Executive of the Year in 2014 and was included as a “Top Newsmaker to Watch for 2013” by Dallas Business Journal. In 2012 he was awarded “Entrepreneur of the Year” by Ernst & Young and in 2009 was selected as “Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser” by the DFW Division of March of Dimes. \nBefore joining Methodist in 2006\, Dr. Mansfield spent seven years as the President and CEO of the five-hospital St. Vincent Health System based in Little Rock\, Arkansas\, and before that held a variety of executive roles for the Baptist Memorial Health Care System in Memphis for 23 years. \nDr. Mansfield has a Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from Ottawa University\, a Master’s from the University of Tennessee\, and holds a Ph.D. in organizational leadership from Regent University in Virginia Beach\, Virginia. \nSteve’s wife Marilyn – a teacher by training – is an author and speaker. Steve and Marilyn have one daughter. \nWalter “Ted” Shaw joined the Texas Hospital Association as the organization’s fourth president and chief executive officer in February 2014. Shaw brings expertise forged from a 40-year career in health care leadership to his role as key strategist and spokesperson on behalf of more than 450 THA member hospitals and health systems. As president and CEO of the largest state hospital association in Texas\, Shaw is responsible for leading the industry in its advocacy work and positioning Texas hospitals to achieve their missions of delivering the highest quality health care to all Texans. \nPrior to joining THA\, Shaw served as interim executive vice president and chief financial officer for Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas\, where he led the development of the Medicaid Transformation Waiver in North Texas and the construction of an 864-bed replacement hospital. From 2004-2011\, he was a partner with the Dallas-based Financial Resource Group LLC\, a health care consulting firm where he specialized in interim operational turnarounds with facilities across the U.S. Prior to joining FRG\, Shaw was president of the health care consulting firm W.T. Shaw Company from 1998-2003. \nHis legacy for leading impressive turnarounds includes assignments at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami\, the third largest public health system in the U.S.; East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie\, La.\, both before and after Hurricane Katrina; Fletcher Allen Health Care in Vermont; and Maricopa Integrated Healthcare System in Phoenix. In addition\, he has a strong background in health care technology and insurance\, having served as chief operating officer of Health2Health.com\, an Internet-based HIPAA solutions company; and with Dallas-based CareSystems Corporation\, a workers’ compensation technology support firm. \nHe began his career with Ernst & Young in San Antonio\, Cleveland and Dallas\, achieving the role of partner with responsibility for the Southwest Region Healthcare Practice from 1973-1992.
