SUMMARY:Utilization of PA/NP Workforce in the Current Healthcare Environment
DESCRIPTION:This panel has been approved for 1.5 ACHE Virtual Interactive Education Credits. \nEvolution and transformational change is inevitable in the current healthcare environment. Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are the fastest growing healthcare professionals. Medical practices and hospital systems recognize the need to ensure optimal utilization of their PA and NP workforce. National data show employers experience greater profit and productivity when they effectively utilize PAs and NPs. During the panel\, participants will learn more about national trends\, as well as how the PA/NP workforce can have a significant impact on patient access\, outcomes and satisfaction and the positive impact PAs and NPs can have on an organization’s financial bottom line. The panel will discuss techniques to measure and document utilization\, using metrics such as productivity\, quality\, provider work satisfaction and resource utilization. This panel will discuss best practices for building sustainable leadership models and career pathways for PAs and NPs in a healthcare organization or medical practice. \n\n\n  \nModerator: Dr. Jim Allard\, DNP\, RN\, NEA-BC\, FACHE\nVice President & Chief Nursing Officer HCA Healthcare\nMedical City Arlington \nPanelists: \nKaren Holmes\nPhysician Assistant\, Orthopedic Surgery\nBaylor Scott & White \nCharlene Kesee\, DBA\, FACHE\, FACMPE\nClinical Department Administrator\nUT Southwestern Medical Center \nDiana Mendoza\, MPAS\, PA-C\nDirector\, APPs Pediatric Specialties\nUT Southwestern Medical Center \n\n\n  \nRegister Here

SUMMARY:The Role Vision Plays in Your Strategic Planning Process
DESCRIPTION:This panel has been approved for 1.5 ACHE Virtual Interactive Education Credits. \n\n\nPrior to the advent of the Affordable Care Act\, the majority of healthcare leaders had the luxury of a virtually unchanging vision for their organization (where they were going and what they wanted to become). Their visions were typically hospitalbased\, simple and clearly understood by all in the organization. For many\, each cycle of strategic planning was simply one of refreshing the plan for the upcoming cycle against the backdrop of that static vision for the future – as straightforward as\, “What are we going to do this coming year?” \nOver the past several years\, those clear\, unchanging\, hospital-based visions have become less relevant to the changing marketplace\, driving a need to examine and in most cases completely refresh and redefine the future. Many haven’t addressed this need. Many that have attempted it have struggled. \nParticipants will leave this session with an appreciation for the effort necessary to develop and articulate a new\, meaningful\, useful\, communicable\, and most importantly achievable vision for their organizations. \n  \nModerator: Mark Schnitzer\nStrategic Planning Advisor\nInnovation Med Institute \nPanelists: \nSaúl Cordero\, PE\, FACHE\nSenior Vice President and Chief Governance & Strategy Officer\nParkland \nKathi Cox\nCOO of Ambulatory/Virtual Channel\nTexas Health Resources \nDonald Taylor\nDirector\, Alliance for Physician Leadership and Professor of Practice\nUT Dallas Naveen Jindal School of Management \n\n\n  \nRegister Here\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
