SUMMARY:2023 ACHE of North Texas Summit/Convocation
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce the 2023 ACHE North Texas Annual Summit. In years past\, this event has been called a Convocation. This year\, we are enhancing the event with a new\, more dynamic format\, so we’ve adjusted the name to reflect that advancement. We are also encouraging attendees to bring their significant others as the format and program are designed for a wider audience. \nWhen you arrive\, you’ll be given your nametag and ushered into a spacious area where all attendees can gather\, socialize\, and network. We will have a cash bar and complimentary food stations located throughout the venue for you to get the beverages and food of your choice. We will have both high-top and sit-down tables for your use. We encourage everyone to socialize as broadly as possible to take advantage of this more relaxed and inviting venue. This format replaces the formal sit-down dinner to provide ample time and space for attendees to mix and mingle. \nInstead of an extended educational program\, we will have a series of three 10-minute TED-talk-style presentations that will be scattered throughout the night. Our featured speakers will be authors Lee Colan and Julie Davis-Colan and Lenetra King. Lee and Julie wrote a book called Healthy Leadership: How to Thrive in the New World of Work. Lenetra wrote a book entitled Unwritten Insights: A Career Playbook for People of Color. Lee and Julie will speak about principles of healthy leadership\, and Lenetra will address how those principles apply to leaders of color. You will be invited to pause your conversations briefly during their discussions\, then you can return to your mixing when they are finished. All attendees will receive free signed copies of Lee and Julie’s book. We appreciate their generous offer of support to ACHE. \n  \nWe hope you are excited about our new\, dynamic format. At ACHE of North Texas\, we will continue innovating to ensure our events are of the highest quality and are the most engaging and educational for you. We believe this approach to the annual Summit helps us achieve our vision of “Making a lasting impact on the world of healthcare.” \n  \n\n\nOur Summit Speakers: \n \nLee Colan and Julie Davis-Colan have been encouraging and equipping leaders for healthy growth since 1999. They are both former corporate leaders and current CEO advisors. Lee is an organizational psychologist and Julie is a corporate health strategist. In addition to advising CEOs\, they have authored 16 leadership books that have been translated into 10 languages. They will share practical insights and tools from their latest book\, Healthy Leadership. \n  \nLee is the Co-founder of The L Group\, Inc. He is an organizational psychologist\, CEO advisor\, independent director\, and leadership consultant. He received his Ph.D. in organizational psychology from George Washington University. He is a former corporate executive and consultant with two premier consulting firms. Lee is also the Independent Director for Pacific Seafood\, the largest vertically integrated seafood company in North America. He is a Best-selling author of 16 leadership books and has been nominated for Top Management Thinker globally by Thinkers50. \n  \nJulie is also the Co-founder of The L Group\, Inc. She is a corporate health strategist\, CEO advisor\, executive coach and leadership consultant. Julie received her M.S. degree in preventive medicine at the Ohio State University College of Medicine. She is a former leader at the National Center for the American Heart Association. She is a best-selling author of 8 leadership books. Julie is one of 1\,200 people globally to be certified as a Positive Psychology Practitioner by the Flourishing Institute. \n  \n  \nLenetra King\, FACHE\, is the founder of Watch Me EXCEL®\, a pioneering leadership development firm that works with organizations to help them engage\, develop and retain talented leaders. With her deep and rich expertise as a senior hospital executive\, she created LeadAmplifyEXCEL®\, a proprietary framework for leaders to amplify their personal brand\, maximize their leadership performance and drive results for their companies. \nShe is a sought-after speaker frequently called on to share her perspectives\, especially related to the intersection of race and gender in leadership and is the author of Unwritten Insights: A Career Playbook for Leaders of Color. \nLenetra serves as Executive in Residence in the Department of Health Services Administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
