Tesmer\, MPA\nChief Community and Public Policy Officer\nTexas Health Resources \n\n\n\n\n  \nRegister Here\n\n\n\n\nSpeakers’ Bios: \n  \nLaVone Arthur is the chief business transformation officer of Baylor Scott & White Health\, the largest not-for-profit health system in Texas. The integrated delivery network includes 49\,000 employees\, 51 hospitals\, 7\,300 affiliated physicians\, more than 1\,100 access points\, Scott and White Health Plan\, FirstCare Health Plans\, Baylor Scott & White Research Institute and one of the nation’s largest accountable care organizations\, Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance. \nIn her role\, Arthur leads business transformation strategies\, working to accelerate value provided to Baylor Scott & White Health’s clinical enterprise. In addition\, she leads integration\, enterprise project management and enterprise process improvement. \nOver a 30+ year career with Baylor Scott & White Health and legacy Baylor Health Care System\, Arthur has served in multiple roles. Most recently\, she served as chief strategy officer\, where she worked with the executive team to develop\, communicate and execute the system’s strategy. Prior to that\, she served as chief integration officer\, developing and deploying integration strategies following the 2013 combination of Baylor Health Care System with Scott & White Healthcare. Previously\, as senior vice president\, business development\, she oversaw new business transactions and joint venture arrangements. \nIn addition to being a Fellow and former national vice-chair of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS)\, board member of American Hospital Association’s (AHA) for-profit subsidiary—Health Forum\, and member of AHA’s Center for Health Innovation and Leadership Council\, Arthur is an advanced member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and a past chair of the North Texas Healthcare Information & Quality Collaborative. She is the recipient of multiple awards\, including the Dallas Business Journal’s 2014 Women in Business Award and 2014 Who’s Who in Healthcare\, 2017 and 2018 Becker’s Women Hospital & Health System Leaders to Know and the 2018 Outstanding Women of Today in Healthcare award from the Altrusa International of Richardson Foundation. \nArthur holds a bachelor of science degree in health systems engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a master of business administration in health services management from the University of Dallas. \n  \nKyle Kirkpatrick\, FACHE\, has over 25 years of consulting and operational experience working in healthcare and life sciences with public and private organizations across the U.S. He is a former hospital CEO with experience running groups of hospitals\, managing joint ventures\, implementing new strategies\, driving EBITDA enhancements\, and creating positive organizational cultures. He has worked as a consultant within Big 4 firms focused on strategic planning\, M&A\, and operational improvements. His strategy experience includes facilitation\, visioning\, strategy and operating model development. He has strong project management experience to coordinate complex initiatives across multiple stakeholder groups. \nKyle and his wife Amy live in Argyle\, Texas and have three teenage children. His interests are his family\, ranching\, fitness\, and beekeeping. He has spoken at various conferences over his career on strategy and M&A related topics.. \n  \n  \nSanjay K. Shetty\, MD\, MBA is the President of Steward Health Care System (North America). Steward is the largest privately held\, physician-owned\, and physician-led health system in the country\, with a focus on providing high quality\, high value care through its integrated healthcare delivery model. Shetty succeeded founder Dr. Ralph de la Torre to take executive leadership of domestic operations in March 2021\, including 35 acute care facilities\, a large multispecialty medical group\, and an integrated accountable care organization\, as well as numerous other healthcare entities comprising Steward’s innovative community care model. Shetty has served in leadership roles across each of Steward’s core business lines\, including as President of Steward Medical Group\, an 1\,800-provider multispecialty practice with providers in 11 states and as President of Steward’s ACO\, Steward Health Care Network\, where he was responsible for Steward’s quality and financial performance under alternative payment models. Most recently\, he served as President of the South Region (TX/LA/AR/FL)\, providing leadership over 12 acute care facilities with a focus on strategic growth and operations. Through these previous leadership roles\, he was instrumental in expanding Steward’s participation in value-based reimbursement models\, doubling of the size of the medical group through nationwide expansion and acquisition\, and engineering a turnaround of multiple acute care facilities that had been struggling prior to acquisition. \nA practicing radiologist\, Dr. Shetty has been actively involved in the state and national level activities of the American College of Radiology\, including as Past President of the Massachusetts Radiological Society and a past member of the ACR national Council Steering Committee. Other roles have included service as Chair of the national Resident and Fellows Section\, a member of the RADPAC Board\, and a course director for the Leadership Accelerator course at the RLI\, in additional to work on numerous national committees in economics\, government relations\, and membership. \nHe is an Associate Clinical Professor of Radiology at Tufts University School of Medicine and has authored numerous articles\, reviews\, editorials\, and book chapters\, in addition to co-authoring a review book in neuroradiology. Prior to joining Steward\, he was a consultant at Bain & Company. He is a graduate of Harvard College (A.B. summa cum laude)\, Harvard Medical School (MD)\, and the Wharton School (MBA)\, and he was a resident\, chief resident\, and fellow in Radiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was recognized by the Boston Business Journal as one of “Boston’s 40 Under 40” in 2012 and by Becker’s Hospital Review in its listing of “Rising Stars: 25 Healthcare Leaders Under 40” in 2013. \nDr. Shetty has had numerous volunteer roles as well. He serves as a Trustee at Phillips Exeter Academy\, his alma mater\, where he also serves as Class President and Class Agent. He is a past member of the Board of Trustees at the Chestnut Hill School\, a coeducational elementary school in Chestnut Hill\, MA\, where he served as Chair of the Trusteeship Committee (focused on governance\, trustee selection and training\, and bylaws)\, Co-Chair of the Head of School Search Committee\, and Vice President of the Board of Trustees. He is a past member and Vice President of the Board of Directors of BANA\, a national Indian cultural and social organization. \nDr. Shetty lives in Dallas\, TX with his wife and children. \n  \n  \nDavid J. Tesmer\, chief community and public policy officer\, has more than 30 years of experience in public policy and stakeholder relations. Joining Texas Health Resources in 1995\, he is responsible for providing the organization’s strategic direction in public policy\, stakeholder relations\, faith and spirituality integration\, community health improvement and north Texas healthy communities (Blue Zones Project Fort Worth). \nTesmer has held a variety of key leadership positions at the local\, state and national level including director emeritus and past chair of the North Texas Commission. He is past chair of the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce and Texas Hospital Association (THA) Political Action Committee (PAC) and the Dallas Fort Worth Hospital Council’s Community Health Collaborative. He currently serves as chairman of the Government Affairs Committee of Premier Inc. (Washington D.C) and is a member of the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Multi-Hospital Policy Committee and the Texas 2036 Health Policy Workgroup. \nTesmer serves on the board of directors of the Trauma Center Association of America and the University of North Texas Health Science Center Academic Community Partnerships Advisory Board. He also provides his insight on stakeholder relations and public policy as a guest lecturer at Texas Christian University Neeley School of Business and University Texas Dallas Naveen Jindal School of Management. \nHe has been recognized by Premier\, AHA and THA for his outstanding advocacy efforts by receiving the Excellence in Advocacy Award\, Most Valuable PAC Player and HOSPAC Star Award.
