He has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry\, and has held leadership roles with several major DFW provider organizations including Parkland Health & Hospital System\, HealthSouth & Medical Center of Plano. In his role at Premier\, Nick has oversight for supporting Premier member hospitals achieve breakthroughs in operational & clinical process improvement and engagement in healthcare quality & safety collaborative efforts\, including QUEST and the Partnership for Patients initiative. Nick also supports various Premier offerings with Dallas-Fort Worth healthcare organizations focused on population health improvement and care management. \nNick has extensive experience working with multiple healthcare providers supporting their technology and informatics strategies.  He has served as Vice President of Business Development for an electronic medical record vendor and for a healthcare focused enterprise resource planning organization.  Nick received his BA in Biology & Psychology from Austin College and an MBA from the Texas A&M University.  He is an ACHE Fellow\, is a Senior Member of HIMSS.  Nick is also a national reviewer and moderator for the Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition education sessions.  Nick lives in Plano\, Texas with his wife and two children.  He is an avid sports fan\, a weekend warrior athlete and an extremely amateur musician. \n \nErma Lee\nDirector of Compliance and Privacy Officer\nJPS Health Network \nAs the Director of Compliance and Privacy officer at JPS Health Network\, Emra Lee implements and administers the day to day activities related to the corporate compliance and privacy programs.  She is a subject matter expert with respect to compliance and privacy matters requiring external reporting.  She retired a Commissioned Officer from the Army Reserves in 2015. \nErma is affiliated with the Healthcare Compliance Association\, American Health Lawyer’s Association\, Privacy Officer’s Association\, and North Texas Healthcare Compliance Professionals Association\, where she served as the past president and secretary. \nSome of her recent speaking engagements include: University of North Texas Health Science\, JPS Health Network International Research Day\, and American Academy of Professional Coders. \nHer community affiliations include:  Lena Pope Home\, Chapel Hill Academy\, \nOpening Doors for Women in Need and Downtown Fort Worth\, Inc \n. \n  \n  \n  \nWill Long\nVP & CISO\nChildren’s Health \nAs VP & Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Children’s Health System of Texas\, Will Long has responsibility for development and oversight of the organization’s corporate information security program. As leader of the information security program\, he monitors new and emerging threats and regularly adjusts the organization’s security programs to mitigate risks. He oversees the development of information security policies\, cyber incident response\, security operations\, risk assurance\, and other security functions.  In addition to securing traditional information systems\, he also directs the efforts to secure the many connected medical devices used across hospital operations. \nLong has spent 30 years in information technology working both in the payor and provider sectors of the healthcare industry for 28 of those years.  During his career\, he has held a number of information technology and security leadership roles.  Prior to Children’s\, Long was the VP of Technology an Infrastructure at Baylor Scott & White Health\, where he was responsible for all technology supporting the hospitals and clinics\, including the biomedical and imaging technologies.  In prior roles\, Long has held security leadership positions where he developed security functions from the ground up. \nLong has holds and B.S. Electronic Engineering Technology degree\, and a M.S in Information Systems Management.  In addition\, Long also holds a CISSP\, CPHIMS certifications. \n\n  \n  \n  \n  \nRon Mehring\, MBA\, CISSP\nVice President\nTechnology & Security \nRon Mehring serves as the Chief Information Security Officer and Vice President of Technology & Security for Texas Health Resources\, one of the largest faith-based\, nonprofit health care delivery systems in the United States. The system’s primary service area includes 16 counties in north-central Texas\, home to more than 6.2 million people. \nAt Texas health Resources\, Ron leads Technology Operations\, IT Risk Management & Assurance\, IT BC DR program and Technology & Security Performance and Standards teams. \nRon began his career in technology for the United States Marine Corps. After 21 years of military service\, Ron retired from the Marine Corps and joined the Department of Veteran Affairs where he led Compliance Assessment teams within the newly formed Oversight & Compliance group. He also served as the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Deputy Director for Network & Security Operations. \nRon holds a Master of Business Administration in Risk Management from NYIT and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). \n\n  \n  \n  \n  \nSean McKenna\nShareholder\nGreenberg Traurig\, LLP \nSean McKenna focuses his practice on  healthcare enforcement and regulatory issues\, representing individuals and providers under civil or administrative investigation by the Department of Justice\, Offices of Inspector General\, and Attorneys’ General Medicaid Fraud Control Units\, as well as in criminal investigations and matters involving the United States and State Attorneys General.  As a former ten-year Assistant United States Attorney\, Associate Counsel to the Inspector General and General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services\, Sean focuses his practice on matters involving the health care industry and regularly represents clients before Medicare\, Medicaid and commercial contractors. Sean’s work includes assisting clients with internal investigations and compliance reviews\, as well as advising on compliance with state and federal fraud and abuse rules.  He is a frequent invited speaker at national\, regional\, and local conference. \n \nMartin Ostensen\, JD\, MBA\, MHA\nUniversity of North Texas Health and Science Center \nMartin Ostensen is an accomplished business leader with multi-faceted expertise in strategic\, legal\, fiscal\, service and administrative leadership. \nMartin was the inaugural leader of Legal Aid Alberta’s (LAA) Legal Services Centres\, and successfully directed the change in LAA’s business model.  He led a 128-member business unit to provide high quality first point of contact service.  Prior to that\, as managing lawyer at Alberta Law Line\, he managed the 28- person legal service center\, and successfully built Canada’s first legal aid web- based channel.  In addition\, he maintained operational integrity in legal hotline operations\, and ensured that client satisfaction exceeded program benchmarks. \nIn his role at LAA\, Martin provided operational support\, including budget development and compliance\, human resources and training\, stakeholder relations\, and policy development\, to deliver high performing client service.  He was a key driver of LAA’s business analytics development\, a project participant in two software changes\, and an effective member of the IT Steering Committee.  He was the project manager for LAA’s Criminal Resolution Unit\, which successfully worked with the Crown\, the judiciary\, staff and clients to shorten resolution times by 75% and effect cost savings over three years that approached $1Million.  He is a recipient of the 2011 Alberta Premier’s Medal of Excellence for his work in the team that supported Alberta Justice’s Self-Represented Litigants Initiative. \nMartin has provided volunteer leadership to two school boards\, a public library\, three minor sports organizations\, and a political party at the district level.  Martin has taught Business Law at a community college.  He believes strongly in investing in young people\, and making a difference in quality of life opportunities in a community. \nPresently\, Martin holds faculty appointments with the School of Public Health (SPH) and the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC)\, Fort Worth\, and in the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University.  He is presently the Director of the Master of Health Administration Program\, and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Behavior and Health Systems.  He teaches Health Care Law\, Public Health Law\, Introduction to Health Management and Policy\, Professional and Academic Development\, MHA Internship\, Health Finance 2\, and US Health Policy.  He has achieved a Quality Matters certification for the Public Health Law (online) class.  Martin presently is a member of the President’s Council for Finance and Budgeting\, and is a member of the Faculty Senate.  Martin is leading the CAHME re-accreditation efforts for the MHA Program.  Martin sits on many committees in the SPH. \nHis academic interests include ethics and access to healthcare\, and the intersection of operational excellence with high performance outcomes.  As the Graduate Assistant to the Dean and the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs of the SPH\, Martin played a key role in providing project management for the SPH’s Accreditation Committee\, in its accreditation efforts with the Council on Education in Public Health (CEPH).  Martin assisted the Associate Dean as the TA for PHED 6321 Pedagogy; his duties included populating and maintaining the course’s Canvas interface.  As part of his Pedagogy course requirements\, Martin taught Ethics for Medical Students in the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.  As part of his MHA degree program\, Martin successfully completed his administrative internship with Baylor\, Scott & White Health\, where he led a project that examined the variation in patient meal satisfaction across the Baylor system. \nMartin holds a Masters in Health Administration degree from UNTHSC\, Masters in Business Administration degrees from Cornell University (Ithaca\, N.Y.) and Queen’s University (Kingston\, Ontario)\, and Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from the University of British Columbia (Vancouver\, B.C.).  Martin was the 2015 recipient of the Rischard S. Kurz Award given annually to an outstanding SPH graduate who emulates the leadership\, accomplishments and visionary qualities of Dean Kurz.  Martin was a 2015 inductee into the Delta Omega National Honorary Society for Public Health based on demonstrated academic excellence\, leadership and commitment to the field of public health\, and Martin was on the Dean’s List.  Born in Oslo\, Norway\, Martin completed his public schooling in Melbourne\, Australia and Powell River\, B.C. \nHis career objectives are to engage students in the development of ethical decision-making\, and to provide strategic leadership to a high performing healthcare organization\, align organizational philosophy\, mission\, vision and values with strategies and operational objectives\, and engage stakeholders to bring about transformational outcomes for patients. \nThroughout his career\, Martin provided strong and decisive leadership with top management performance that delivered results.  He provides leadership with integrity\, perspective and purpose\, delivered with confidence and care. \n\n  \n  \n  \nPamela J. Stoyanoff\nExecutive Vice President & COO\,\nMethodist Health System \nPamela Stoyanoff\, MBA and CPA is currently Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the 7 hospital Methodist Health System in Dallas\, Texas.  In that role she is responsible for 4 of the 7 hospitals (the other 3 being joint ventures) and a myriad of Corporate\, centralized functions including IT\, Purchasing\, Quality\, Transplant services and Graduate Medical Education.  Pam is experienced in strategic planning\, financial management\, IT\, Human resources\, operational performance improvement\, joint ventures and physician integration.  She is a member of several Boards\, including the Dallas Ft. Worth Hospital Council Education and Foundation Board\,)\, the American Heart Association Go Red For Women Dallas chapter\, ACHE of North Texas Board and several others.  She is well known in the community\, serving on the Trinity Commons Foundation Board (developed to promote the Trinity River Corridor Project) and has traveled to Washington D.C. with select contingencies to promote Dallas economic development. \nPrior to coming to Dallas\, Pam was the Chief Financial Officer for the St. Vincent Health System (4 hospitals) in Little Rock\, Arkansas.  She is originally from Chicago\, Illinois and began her career at Arthur Anderson & Co. \nPam has her BS in Business Administration with a major in Accounting\, is a CPA and has her Masters degree from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in Lake Forest\, Illinois. \nPam has spoken around the country on many topics including revenue cycle management\, cost reduction strategies and diversity in healthcare supply procurement. \nShe was most recently voted one of the top 25 Women in Business in Dallas/Ft. Worth by the Dallas Business Journal in 2010 and was also selected in 2010 by the Dallas Business Journal as a Health Care Hero (in recognition of contributions toward improving health care in North Texas). \n  \nRegister Now
